Again, I'd like to hear what is soft? Not pictures of other "soft" players, but define or elaberate on a soft player....
    Will never initiate contact
Sheds away from contact. VC when he penetrates, he'll often throw up some weak junk as to not get hit.
Player who misses time due to a lame injury.
Player who isn't aggressive at all or big man who gets pushed around easily.

That's my definition of a soft player. I don't think Dirk is soft. He's top 11 in FTA and when I watch him, I don't see him shying away from contact.

        Thank you!

In fact I found a great article that I'm going to post in a seperate thread and let guy's debate who's soft and why they consider them soft.

Dirks go-to move in a sense is to drive to the lane, let the defender continue to go while Dirk jump stops, and shot a 8 foot jumper thats basically automatic. Driving isnt just about shooting layups. Dirk drives to the hole and pulls up for the jumper.

Why? Because he's one of the worst finishers in the L in comparison to how good of a scorer he is. Unless the basket is open for a easy dunk/layup, Dirk probably gonna pull up for a J from 6-8 feet out rather than tey to out jump or out quick someone in the paint.

To me toughness is define by not being scared to do things like get dunked on and to not get punked stuff, like to me mourning is a tough guy how many guys do you know will try to block vince carter just to help his team win, JO also trys to block shots and there all doing it to win thats why i respect JO's game the guys who get dunked on but also get the blocks i respect, Yao to me is soft but recently i've been seeing him trying to get tougher and not taking anyone $h!t.

Dirk's been very bad of defense compared to last year when he made strides as a help side defender. However, to me, that's not a definition of tough. It can be, but it shouldn't be limited to just that.

VC2k3 said some more that make a player soft (which the opposite makes them tough in a sense).

I think its about being aggressive, being able to handle pressure successfully, putting your body on the line, playing thru pain, and so on. There's plenty of ways to be a solider on the court and to me, Dirk does plenty to have shed the "soft" label by now.
