Active players who retired RIGHT now will be in the hall of fame.

This is not for guys who can potenially be in. I'm talking about if they stopped playing right now with their numbers they would get in at the time of their eligibility. Here are my sure fire ones:

    - Shaquille O'Neal: No brainer. Most dominate center in the history of basketball.

    - Tim Dunan: Better than any power forward I've seen play the game. That's including Karl Malone.

    - Allen Iverson: Possibily the best 'little' man to play the game. No disrespect to Isiah Thomas and Nate Archibald.

    - Jason Kidd: Ninth all-time in assists. Past Lenny Wilkins, another HOFer.

    - Gary Payton: Sixth all-time in assists and 3rd all-time in steals.

    - Kobe Bryant: Believe me, I'm no Kobe Bryant fan but for what he's done in his short NBA career only Wilt and Jordan's numbers suprass his.

Anybody got anyother players playing now who should be sure fire HOFers? Anyone disagree with my picks?

I agree with all of your picks (Dice). There's no way you can leave those guys out of the Hall.

TMac and KG are two other guys that I think are capable of getting in someday. They just have to do something in the playoffs to warrant that, first.

        Lebron James

        No seriously, I'd go with

Robert Horry--even though he was just a role player, all those championships gotta mean something.

I'm sorry but Dirk and Nash wouldnt be in there if they retired today. There numbers dont hold up and they have never won a championship.

Agree. Also Kevin Garnett. That's the reason why I left them off. They are potenial HOFer's BUT need some more years to prove themselves.

This is a tough thread. Besides the players you listed, no one else really qualifies.

What have they done to warrant being in the hall of fame?

In the history of the league, has any player like Nash ever won the MVP?

He's one of my favorite players, but the basketball hall is very tough to get into, and when they go back and look at his career, I don't think he'll get in.

Thats a nice quote but it doesnt mean Nash gets in if he retired TODAY. The only MVP's you could compare to Nash are Iverson and McAdoo. The difference is McAdoo has rings and Iverson has been to the Finals and has better numbers.

Looking at right now, I agree with you. If Suns go something deep, deep in the playoffs starting this year for the next couple years though, Nash will be there for sure.

Think Stockton and Malone going to the NBA Finals twice later in their careers. If Malone had retired the year before they went to the Finals, I dont think he would be able to make the Hall (which I think he will). He definitely would not have made it retiring at 31 (Nash's age). Malone didnt get his two MVP's and two Finals appearances until after that.

Also, on the subject of winning to make the Hall, will Sir Charles make the Hall (as a player)? He had one season where he made MVP and went to the Finals. If you say Garnett wont make it, then Charles wont either.
