i don't think making clutch shots would put in you in the hall. The guys in the hall are players who not only have great stats but have LEAD their team in some way. Horry is not a leader, and never was on any of his team. He might be a great veteren role player, but has any team relied everything on Horry like any other hall of famer? Maybe i'm wrong but pretty much all the hall of famers i know are all leaders. The ones mentioned already, Iverson, Kobe, Garnett, Duncan...all big time leaders

David had a good NBA career to warrant a HOF induction. He averaged 22 ppg in his career. All-star 5 times in his career. And All-NBA team honors twice. It's borderline but he's in.

And as far as you saying for every ring he has the team wouldn't have won without him...you can argue the same for Paxson and Ellie. Even though the argument is insane. Would the Bulls won game 7 if Paxson didn't hit that big shot in game 6 to win it for the Bulls in 1993? Ellie hit that 'kiss of death' shot in game 7 of the Phoenix series.

The reality of it is Horry won titles because he had Olajuwon and Shaq and his squads. Paxson won because of Jordan and Pippen. Ellie won because of Olajuwon and Duncan/Robinson.
LOL cmon man, be serious... I was obviously NOT talking about mario ellie and paxson.

And in the championship series Horry has been in, as much as I can remember, he's had one great game (Game 5 last year against the Pistons) and two, count 'em--TWO--clutch shots (Game 5 against the Pistons and Game 5, I think, against the Kings back in 2002). That's all I can recall. He may have had a clutch shot when he was with the Rockets in the Finals, but still, that's only three. Like Dice said, John Paxon and Mario Ellie have had just as many big shots.

            Horry is hardly HoF material.
            Please.

Go look at Robert horrys resume ,records and multiple broken records, look at john paxsons, look at mario ellies, come up with a slightly better argument, then get back at me.

Think Stockton and Malone going to the NBA Finals twice later in their careers. If Malone had retired the year before they went to the Finals, I dont think he would be able to make the Hall (which I think he will). He definitely would not have made it retiring at 31 (Nash's age). Malone didnt get his two MVP's and two Finals appearances until after that.

Also, on the subject of winning to make the Hall, will Sir Charles make the Hall (as a player)? He had one season where he made MVP and went to the Finals. If you say Garnett wont make it, then Charles wont either.
Karl Malone and John Stockton was selected in 1996 as two of the 50 greatest players of all time. A year before they went to the finals. Charles Barkley was also named one of the 50 greatest players of all time in 1996.

                - Shaquille O'Neal: No brainer. Most dominate center in the history of basketball.

                - Tim Dunan: Better than any power forward I've seen play the game. That's including Karl Malone.

                - Allen Iverson: Possibily the best 'little' man to play the game. No disrespect to Isiah Thomas and Nate Archibald.

                - Jason Kidd: Ninth all-time in assists. Past Lenny Wilkins, another HOFer.

                - Gary Payton: Sixth all-time in assists and 3rd all-time in steals.

                - Kobe Bryant: Believe me, I'm no Kobe Bryant fan but for what he's done in his short NBA career only Wilt and Jordan's numbers suprass his.

Anybody got anyother players playing now who should be sure fire HOFers? Anyone disagree with my picks?
No way is AI compared to Isiah Thomas. Thomas is the better player.

So did Hill then. His prime was arguably longer than Thompson's. Both showed phenomenal talent for a while then kinda flamed out.

Thompson led one team to the ABA Finals and one to the conference finals, while averaging more points doing it.

Hill never got out of the first round.
