Russell was a special player in any era. What about Kareem. He won 6 Championships and was the most productive offensive players in the history of the NBA.
Why does it seem like problems with verb conjugation are far more prevalent in this forum?

because you are doing it here, might as well get paid for the job. If you don't agree with me fine but the other stuff is kind of remind me of a female dog. All I am saying that people want to make Jordan the GOAT but I think Russell is the greatest of all time.

          Peace

I question your claims...and if you're, in fact, telling the truth...that's just sad. All I am saying IS that people want to be heard as a maven on the subject, yet, they try to do so without communicating effectively. And I'm speaking about this forum much moreso than any other. It's a constant exercise in untangling/decoding what is a lack of fundamentals.

Maven, you are soooo deep. No, I am saying someone almost won twice as many championships as Jordan and won as many MVPs so be considered the GOAT. Hope you can understand my poorly constructed piece.

you conveniently forgot to mention phoenix and seattle teams.

mj bulls also beat 64 win awesome seattle team. reign man in his prime and gp in his prime. they would kill in today's league.

utah was at its peak with arguably 2nd best pg ever and top 5 pf of all time, with hornacek at 2.

beat an awesome phoenix team, which definitely had more overall talent -barkley in his prime, kj(awesome) thunder dan, ceballos(could score 20ppg in todays league)

portland team was great- with drexler, kersey, porter, etc duckworth would be considered a top center now.

also, la got beat 4-1. only won game 1 on a shot by perkins near end of game.

MJ made his team, that was full of role players, good. Even Pippen didn't become a real star until MJ left, and I think MJ had a huge influence on Pippen's game.

Even some of the best stars today have yet to do what MJ has done. Shaq might be the closest to him.

What exactly did he do to make everyone consider him the greatest of all time? I mean, I know he completely changed his game from being a high-flying dunker to a jump shooter when he knew he no longer could fly over people. And I know he became a much more team-oriented player when everyone said he couldn't win a title and was too much of an individual player (which I know angered him). And I know he hit way too many buzzer-beaters in his career to even list. But what exactly did he do to make people consider him the GOAT? When you have players like Kobe Bryant (and I hate Kobe, but the guy is an offensive monster) telling reporters not to even compare him or LeBron to MJ because there simply is no comparison, obviously everyone respects the guy and considers him the GOAT.

                    My question is why?

The big O Oscar Robertson practically averaged a triple double for an entire season. 20 10 and 10, you'll never see that ever again.

As for the rebounds wilt and russell averaged, its unfair because back then there was no 3 second paint rule and no goal tending. Imagine shaq with no 3 second rule and no goal tending violations, you could take the ball off the rim.

Better yet Wilt was the reason those rule changes had to be made especially when you score 100 points in a game and average 50.4 points a game through an entire season.

Jordan capitalized in an era of more intense media coverage. The nba was at its biggest. People don't know or remember Oscar or Wilt the 2 G.O.A.T.

the fact that if you could create a basketball player from the ground up you would make him just like MJ

he was a 5-tool player that had every ability at his dispense. and there will never be another MJ.

Thats nonsense. People dont acknowledge Wilt because he played in an era when the average height was 6'3"-6'5" and many guys couldnt dunk. In the Jordan era the average height was 6'7" but the average 6'7" guy could send a 6'10" players shot into the 5th row. Plus Jordan could take the ball from end to end and create his own shot. Jordan was the ultimate "queen of the chessboard". Actually too, I believe Jordan's lifetime average points per game is more that of Wilt in spite of playing in an era where size by itself wasnt such an enormous advantage. Plus Wilt was kind of a softy.

There were ton of guys that could dunk but it was considered show boating. There average height of players wasn't 6'3-6-5 there were big men in that era. The same way Shaq was bigger and stronger than other centers is the same way Wilt was bigger than the players in his era. Remember how a 6-10 center (Hakeem) took Shaq to school. So size is kind of over rated and skills is what matters.

If people think that Jordan was so much better than Oscar Robertson I would have to disagree.
