Because they got a first round pick.

Antonio Davis can't help them. The team has no shot this year, and they have no shot at getting under the cap for next year either, so an expiring contract isn't going to help them, and taking on a bad contract isn't going to hurt them

Getting a first round pick for Davis is a no brainer. The only question is if they could have gotten a player that fits Brown's style more than Jalen Rose, and still get a pick. I don't know.

I think dolan should just get rid of thomas. that would help the knicks find someone better to run the team. man, get mj to run the show. to be fair to isiah though, layden didn't help his situation one bit.

why is everyone blaming Isiah? Larry Brown wanted Jalen Rose and made this deal happen. He needs experienced guys in the backcourt who can handle the ball, letting Marbury and the other guards play off the ball a bit. He was quoted himself as saying "He is exactly what we need right now."

The Denver pick is lottery protected, BTW.

Yup. I don't remember if it's top 5 or top 8 protected, but it definatly has protection on it.

Bigeastbumrush, where I you! I told you bro. Isiah is too stupid not to trade for him.
Vince, you were right. I'm man enough to admit it.

The knicks picked up rose because nobody on the knicks roster was getting the job done of playing PG under larry's system. Rose will act as a PG/Forward and bring the ball up sometimes to have better transition and passing ability. They take another loaded contract for 2 years but they had to try and stop the bleeding asap.
