I'm sure many Americans are bitter tho!
Not this one. I am all for it. I like what he does for the team and how they took on his personality.

I believe Nash was a good pick this year. And not to take anything away from Nash, but, why does everyone act like he's got a rag doll team over there in Pheonix? He's got the Matrix...and its not like dude is a scrub. He's been a borderline (18pts, 10 reb, 2 stls-career) 1st-tier star and DPY candidate his whole career, even before Nash got there. I'm not saying Nash didn't deserve it but damn, he's definitely not alone out there.

It doesnt matter if he was alone. Was Magic alone? MJ? Wilt? Barkley? Karl Malone?

I mean cmon guys. Nash is deserving. People are picking anything they can to find a kink in why he shouldnt have won the award.

The whining nowadays is amazing. Its not like PJ Brown was selected. Anyone here that says they wouldnt take him on their team as their starting PG is lying.

No one is saying he isn't deserving. But the fact remains that the 2nd best player on the team guarantees you 19pts, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and great defense. That certainly eases the burden of performance for you(as the MVP candidate) and those younger players looking to make their own mark. No other MVP candidate has that kind of consistency from their #2 star. But for those who took my post wrong...CONGRATS TO NASH.

                A) The biggest reason is he got in shape. He started working out in the offseaosn after signing with Phoniex, likely to prove Mark Cuban wrong about the idea he wasnt worth the contract he got and Cuban declined to offer him.

                B) The PHX system is dependant on Nash and Nash alone. Dallas' run and gun style was more-so isolations and mismatches, while Phoniex is Nash having the ball 80% of the time and making things happen. In Dallas, Nash-Dirk-Finley were equal scoring options and iso's or PnR's so Nash's assist and scoring weren't as good.

Nash winning is fine with me. He was one of the 3 guys I would have agreed with.

Meh, I think LeBron should have won it. But Steve is a hell of a player and deserves the hardware.

In my opinion, on how the MVP race should have gone:

                  1) LeBron James
                  2) Dwayne Wade
                  3) Steve Nash
                  4) Dirk Nowitzki
                  5) Chauncey Billups

As much as I hate Kobe, and I mean I can't stand him but I think the MVP should have been given to him. LeBron is a close second. The problem is nobody likes Kobe. He is not a true team player. But he is the most valuable player to his team. Image is everything in the league. Kobe just doesnt hold up there.

ya, I think this is where the MVP could have the most impact. In the HoF monitor at databasebasketball, an MVP is worth 75 points and above 130 points is a very likely hall of famer. But, then again there's never been a case like Nash before, so I don't think that scoring system represents him well.

I still don't think he gets in without something more though. 2 extraordinary seasons probably won't be enough.

Anyone who thinks Steve Nash doesnt WHOLEHEARTEDLY deserve the MVP award, is just, well, I don't know the word.

I don't think I need to give my argument because it's been discussed to death, but, he's been the clear MVP since the season started, and nothing will change that opinion for me.

However, this award is about THIS YEAR. It is not about past screwjobs, and its not about what legends won it in the past. It's not to be placed in the context of history, but in the context of the 2005-2006 NBA season. And this year, Nash was the best player, survived a roster overhaul, imporved his already great game, rallied a group of scrubs and clinched his division.

People need to quit being so emotional, like its a slap in the face that Nash took it.
Nash wasn't close to being the best individual player, and I wouldn't say his group of "scrubs" (including a darkhorse MVP candidate) was any worse than LeBron or Kobe's supporting cast. He is the Most Valuable Cog in the league, and if that's the criteria, he deserves it. That's just not everyone's criteria.

I ain't mad at Nash, he's no less deserving than Dirk, LB and Kobe, but certainly no "more" deserving.
