Grunt, how can you say 15 games is too much? It should have been more. Robinson should have gotten more as well. Stern didn't come down strict, he went lightly imo.

I don't remember what the suspensions were for the Knicks/Heat or Knicks/Bulls brawls, but I don't think anyone got 15 games and those were more vicious, IMO.

            I AGREE WITH THIS WHOLE-HEARTEDLY.

Fighting in a game is bad news... but the Nate Robinson is a thug... Melo didn't need to do what he did but his emotions got the best of him. He should get a game and move on, that's what the precedent says. Now, if he's wailing away on someone or choking, etc, then he gets more.

If Stern wants to clean things up, fine, I respect that, but change the rules and stick by those. 5 games for a punch, 10 games for multiple punches... 10 games for choking... whatever.

THere's a TON of people who've been in fist fights in the NBA and for years it's been a punch is a game......

But the precedent was set after the brawl in Detroit. Stern said he would act strictly at any events like that after. Well, he didn't. 15 games is nothing. Everyone was calmed down and it seemed the tension was over before Melo threw his sucker punch. And Robinson, without him this would have just been a flagrant foul. He pretty much escalated it. Both should have been gone for 20+ imo.

Can we stop calling the punch a "sucker" punch. If you foul somebody hard like that then procede to keep talking smack you should be expecting somone to want to smack your ***.

I think Robinson was the catalyst of the whole thing, and he is crazy. He should have gotten a longer suspension. Zeke should be suspended as well.

Me and u think the same way these were way of track from what he always gives players 4 the same thing. I never seen a player get 6 games 4 the foul Collins gave Smith and and what did Jared do 2 get 4 games. JR and Nate should have got what ever Ray Allen and Keyon Dooling got last year and then no player has ever got 15 games 4 throwing 1 punch so there is no way Melo should have got 15

15 games for Melo, huh? Shoulda known Stern was gonna go overboard.

The NBA is pussified nowadays. There's like one fight every 2 or 3 years, and the League gets its panties in a bunch. Image this, and image that.

Eff Stern and his image. That fight was weaksauce compared to some classics I've seen.

Fights don't belong in basketball, period. Don't get me wrong if I see a fight in a sports game I will watch, but I give credit for Stern trying to clean up things and making players wear suits was great and with these suspensions (even though for some, light) and the fines were light, but at least the image is delivered.
