    Re: All-Star reserves

Boozer and Yao will be replaced, so the West lineup is very misleading IMO.

Wonder who's gonna take Boozer's place?
    NFL: Pittsburgh Steelers
    NBA: Dallas Mavericks
    MLB: Texas Rangers
    NHL: Dallas Stars

I didn't call you a "homer" in this thread but thanks for clarifying that. Also, why oh why, do you always bring up the greatest that is Steve Nash in every thread? Yes he deserves a 3rd MVP and I think the majority of the US agrees with me.
LOL im a homer because i said the Mavs should have more than one all star this season? What a freakin joke.

homer or not, Dallas is the defending western conference champs...and they had the best record in the NBA in the first half this year. Yet, they have only one all-star, while San Antonio and Phoenix both have at least two. That isnt right.

as far as your MVP comment, as you know there is a lot of season left...but you can now take "supporting casts" out of the equation for both Nash and Dirk. but I guess the "definition" of the award will change now according to some since the main argument about supporting casts is out the window.

Mavs have the best record right now due to playing more games, go ahead and say BS but it's the truth.
...and due to being 2-0 against the Suns

Actually the Suns have yet to beat any team among the group of SA, Dallas, LA, and Utah. They are 0-6 combined against those teams. The next two games happen to be against the Spurs and the Jazz and they will be pretty important for Phoenix if they want have any sort of tiebreaker and if they want to prove to themselves that they can actually beat those teams come playoff time.

i can't believe Melo did not make it but Shaq did...
I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

Ok, 1st of all against those 4 teams they've actually beat the Lakers or Clippers (whoever your talking about) and it's VERY deceiving. We all know, if you watch the Suns that they started off pretty slow and most of those losses were in the beginning of the season.

Yet again, I'm not denying Howard doesn't deserve a spot and yet you continue to talk about team records and the MVP but whatever makes you happy. All I was saying is, it's funny that you say Howard deserved it more than Amare or Marion, which happen to be Suns even when they've produced just as much as he did but Dallas has the best record and they've won a total of 2 more games so let's give it to him. I mean, the team with the best record always has more all-stars than everyone.

            Eddy Curry got jobbed man.

            19 PPG
            7 RPG
            58% FG

            Complete rip-off.

If Shaq shows up to the All-Star game, it better be in a suit because he has no right to be in that game.

            12 PPG
            6.5 RPG
            46% FG
            6 games played

            Give me an eff'n break.

I don't know why Tony Parker got in and how Amare and Marion got in.

I think Deron williams should've gotten in over tony parker.

I think Tony belongs in the all star game, I mean look at his fg% along with hi spoints just incredible. Rip doesn't belong, Chauncey doesn't belong, Shaq doesn't belong, it should'ce been dwight starting instead with Alonzo at the reserve and I am incredibly surpised that Josh Howard didn't make it. I was so certain he was gonna make it

including reserves: Chauncey, Rip, Shaq, Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady(as a starter) and that's basically it

I just meant the starters, because the quote was about the fans taking away from deserving guys.

                        I said "aside from Shaq".

I totally agree with Chauncy and Rip. But they're reserves.

Like it or not, Yao is the best center in the game and was having an MVP season before he went down, so he is deserving. The fact that he was injured this season is the ONLY reason he doesn't deserve a selection and that injury is keeping him out anyway.

That leaves T-Mac. While he doesn't deserve to start over Nash, Nash still made the team anyway, so Mac isn't "taking away" from someone more deserving.

The whole whining and complaining about fans voting is a bit tired. Especially since every year, the coach's vote for more undeserving players than the fans do (as far as I see, Shaq is the only one the fans got wrong).

Even though Shaq is undeserving of an all-star spot, I'd still vote for him. He's a fun guy to have at an all-star game, doing all kinds of comic antics.

EXACTLY... Woooohooo... let me sit at home and make my money and relax... while others go an participate in a meaningless exhibition. Granted, I'd love to play in the AS game if I were a NBA player... but still, let the fans see who they want. After all, that's what the game is about.
