People don't want to think for themself. That's why. The only thing that matters is the here and now vs. the whole picture. Freaking Nash was the backup to Kidd for a reason. Kidd never gets on a great squad but turns them into wonderful playoff runs everytime. How many times has he been in the playoffs? I wonder. Baron Davis is so ill. He lost a lot of weight from previous years.

Barron is a great tallent, but he could go on the 60 day DL at any minute.

J-Kidd was the starter over Nash when Nash was in his first few years in the league. Yes Kidd WAS better, but some players are late bloomers.

And you say "Kidd never gets on a great squad but turns them into wonderful playoff runs everytime". Last time I checked Dallas was a dump before Nash got there. Yeah it took them a while but he was a major part of helping Dirk become the player he is today, and the Mavs becoming the team they are. As for Phoenix, they were one of the worst teams in the West before Nash go there. Or am I mistaken?

And maybe Im wrong, but isn't the point of this thread to vote on who is the best PG is today.

Kidd was the best point guard in the league 4 years ago, before his knee injury. That injury and age have slowed him down. Before he could carry medicore teams to excellence. Now he can barely get his team in the playoffs in the JV eastern conference. Nash is by far the best point guard the past 3-4 years there is no debate he is after all the 2 time MVP and probably will be the 3 time MVP. As far as Baron Davis goes if he can ever stay healthy for a full season he will be near the top of the list. I still have no idea why Gilbert Arenas or Allen Iverson are even on this list they are both really combo guards.

I agree. Nash is the slightly better player now and in the past couple of seasons.

however, talking career wise it's Kidd by a wide margin imo.

I Like When People Say That J-Kidd Has Been Slow Down Because Of Injuries But Name One Point Guard Right Now Who Has Numbers Like This On An Injury-Riddled Team Or Any Point Guard Right Now 13 Points 8.2 Rebounds 9.2 Assists And For The Month Of April He Averaged, 9 Points 10 Rebounds & 10 Assist That's Almost A Triple Double A Game.

Yes Nash Is Best Point Guard In The League, But Kidd Is Right Behind Him For Second. He Can Barely Get His Team Into The Playoffs Because Of All The Injuries This Team Has Sustained This Season. Try A Healthy Net Squad & They Are In The Top 4 In The East.

Off-topic, by why do you capitalize every word? It's incredibly annoying.

Because in my opinion Baron isn't the onemaking his team mates better. Jason is much more capable than top average 16 points. And there is no way the Warriors wouldv'e made the playoffs(even though they barely did) without Monta Ellis.

Watch the Warriors in the playoffs. Baron is the main distributor he gets everyone on the team easy baskets. J-Rich had a down year because of his slow healing from knee surgery in the offseason. He also broke his wrist during the year limiting him to only 51 games and he didn't regain his effectiveness until the end of the year. Back to Baron he had knee surgery on Feb. 3rd of this year, without him the Warriors went 4-9 during that time. When he returned from his surgery on March 5th they finished the year 16-5. He is the key to everything on the Warriors make no mistake about that.

As Charles Barkley says, I ain't goin' to give no life time acheivment award to a man on a team that clinched a playoff spot on the very last day in the season, never won a title, never made it to the finals, never was an MVP, I mean he wasn't even voted to the all-star game. I'm not saying that he isn't a great player but there is better. (I put Chris Paul in there because he has immense talent, lead his team to I think 39 victories by himself, and is the most promising player in the NBA right now)

Baron Davis is the floor general for GS. No doubt about it.

Steve Nash was MVP, but didn't make the all-star game. That shows how much the all-star game really means talent-wise.

Baron Davis will be this generations biggest question of tallent. He will go 3 - 6 weeks of playing perfect PG. Dishing, slashing, defending, shooting, winning and all making it look very sexy. The man can do it all, but not over a 26-40 week basis. He never has, and I wonder if he ever will. I know he has played a full season before, but not at the high level to claim the best 1Guard in the NBA. Both Nash and Kidd can make that claim.

Playing 60 games in a season should not be an accomplishment of a player being considered the best PG in the L. The best PG in the NBA, playing 60 games should be a disapointment. I know Baron is not proud of it, but anyone who says hes healthy has lost there mind. Healthy is playing 90% of the season with maybe minor bumps an bruises, or not being so hurt that you can play through your injuries.

I enjoy watching Baron when hes good and healthy, but I think hes getting all this love because hes the hot-trendy guard of April since he led the Warriors through the drout of missing the playoffs.

If you don't belive me, scroll back through this thread and see how many mentions of Arenas there are. If this was Jan. or Feb. he would be anywhere between 1st-3rd on this list according to the OS faithfull.
