Re: ***Official 2007 NBA Playoffs Discussion Thread***
That puts it in a different light then.
So it's either Garnett from 31 maybe 3 or 4 more years or Amare become more polished around the rim and being a good one-on-one defender.
So basically you'd have to weigh out the options of which happens first: Garnett declining or Amare become truly complete.Comment

This is completely off the subject but I think it is somewhat related. Years ago ESPN ran a story about Mark McGwire and all the foundation and charity work he does locally in St Louis, pre-steroid talk, and they made him look like a great guy and I was really touched by the guy. Then ESPN started killing him for steroids and andro etc and it did slightly alter the way I saw the guy, in the end he still did the great community work and spent tons of time with charities when it wasnt necessary but for some reason I let ESPN alter my outlook on the guy.Comment

Yeah, I think his point about it all tho was: Steve Nash is old and he's presumably not going to be playing at this level forever.
So I guess he views that they have a better chance of winning it all NOW with KG than with Amare even if it means foresaking the future.
And like I said, there's no guarantee Amare is there after 2012 (and does he have an opt-out clause? If so, it's possible he could be gone before even then if **** hits the fan.)Comment
