    WOW! Talk about rock bottom.

Anyway, I think the reason for the drop is because the players aren't as good and the talent that is there is spread too thin. It will never happen because money is the bottom line, but just like baseball I think basketball would benefit tremendously by contracting 4-6 franchises.

You had the influx of undeveloped HS players who were tagged as franchise players but were duds. I honestly think that is still greatly affecting the league and will do so for another 3-5 years.

It is boring. I loved to watch a piston game any time I could and im not from Detriot. I just appreciate the way Detriot plays and how they work their offense. But in the playoffs about 70% of thier games have been blah....and Clevland is flat out the biggest bore in the NBA today (unless your on Lebron's jock or your from Clevland).

Worst part is most of the NBA is not that much worse than the Cavs. After the first round I think I saw 5 games....and maybe I finished one of thoes 5.

the nba shoved certain individuals down your throats all year and now they can't market these two teams at the last second

looking at the last 4 teams its that vomit in the stomach that you know is coming up real soon

Yup. I'm fed up with the NBA now. The whole Suns/Spurs fiasco was the final straw for me. I'm not even watching the games now and don't think I will for the forseeable future.

Please, dude. My favorite team hasn't done much since MJ retired. I still watched the NBA, even through its declining play and ratings.

Now, Stern has run it into the ground with his stupid as **** rules and silly *** suspensions. The damn game is basically unwatchable now.

The NBA does need to get away from having so many damn foul calls. It disrupts the flow of the game and that is the greatest asset basketball has as a spectator sport.

David Stern, and David Stern alone is the reason NBA is on the decline.

                Stern is ****ing up.

Re: NBA Ratings continue to slide

Playoffs last WAY too long, they have to get rid of the first round being best of 7.

We need NBA on NBC back, 90s style (not as good in 2000s). Costas did a great job. Also, I remember coming back from Sunday School just in time to catch Sunday basketball on NBC. It was truly special.

The NBA is moving in the wrong direction and it won't get better until they stop listening to the $ when making their decisions. ESPN/ABC has just done a terrible job with NFL and NBA. NBC handled basketball perfectly.

I don't mind the 7 game first round as much as the gigantic breaks between games. There's no reason to have 2 or 3 days off between games, that's just ridiculous. If I happen to gain interest in a particular series after a game, by the time the next game rolls around I've lost all interest again.

The whole organization/corporation/whatever needs a complete overhaul. The lead management officials (Stern, Jackson, etc), the referees, the rules, the TV contracts, everything.

I wish there was a stoppage of play for a year to fix everything.

So true. The league is jacked.

It may end up working in the long run for the NHL (short term hasn't been terribly hot though imo).

How many people would truly miss the NBA if it shut down for a year? There's enough quality collegiate ball out there to hold people's interest for a while.

The NBA needs a new commissioner . Stern continues to ruin the nba with all these changes to the game.

I don't get the gigantic breaks you're talking about. They had a game everyday for the first two rounds.
