    Kobe Bryant's Mentality

The Kobe Bryant Mentality of Basketball is simple and user-friendly. All you have to do is completely over-exaggerate what coach Jackson tells you to do. For instance, if Coach Jackson tells you to play as a team, then using the Kobe Bryant Mentality, all you need to do is shoot for a triple-double every game. However, if Coach Jackson asks you to take over a little more of the offensive responsibilities, you should pump up as many shots as possible, regardless of whether you are open or not. The simple idea behind this is that as long as you score 40 points, then you have achieved your goal. The Kobe Bryant Mentality does not take into account winning or losing, it takes into account being on SportsCenter and breaking Michael Jordan records. It is an individual accolade mentality. Hopefully with this breakdown of the rules of the Kobe Bryant Mentality, you too can be a ball-hog, selfish, self-centered basketball player who only cares about his statistics, such as Mr. Kobe Bryant. Good luck and good stats!

Amen. Amen. Amen. And I must say once again, Amen!!!
Numbers mean success to players like Kobe. Without Shaq, he would be a more graceful and skilled Dominique Wilkins. Lots of numbers to get your mouth watering, but no substance. He doesnt make his teamates better. If he did that, they wouldnt have been 11 games under .500 until daddy came home. Great individual player, bad in the team structure. Way too much "I gotta get mine" type thinkin goin on in his world.
Preach on my brotha Padgoi. Preach on!

If I'm thinking correctly, SHAQ was in ever single one of those games getting 20+ ppg.

Their referring to when Kobe scores 30+ ppg when Shaq is on the bench injured.

Personally, I just feel that Kobe is more into individual accolades. Last night, the only thing he had on his mind was scoring over 40 points, regardless of the consequences. He would've thrown up 50 shots if he had to and that is sick. He is not interested in the well-being of the team. If he has to score 4 points and get 17 assists to win, then that's the sacrifice he should make. It's a team game and Kobe is lost in the world of scoring titles and breaking records. He has amazing talent but he doesnt use it wisely. His mind is in the wrong place.

Wrong place? You know how much points the starting forwards had combined? 4!!! Rick Fox had an amazing ZERO! His teammates suck, plain and simple. Every now and then they'll have a good game or a string of 3 good games in a row, but thats it. He's trying to win the game.

Well said Padgoi. Check out this story piece on ESPN on Kobe. You almost sound the same as this.

Page 2's Charley Rosen explains why he doesn't like Kobe and which former stars could play today.
