stupid trade IMO devin harris is on the rise and kidd is on the fall. They should of made a trade for a big man cuz anybody is better than dampier. Other than the Gasol trade the trade this year are pretty dumb like this one and the hawks trade

Also his second highest RPG total in his career. His steals are 1.5 thats not adnomarmally bad for him he's done that in his career, his TO's are at normal levels for him 3.6. Honestly I don't see how based off stat's how bad he is, yah his ppg are down by a small margin but Kidd is still Jason Kidd 11.3 ppg 8 reb and 10.4, He definetly earns the name Mr. Tripple Double how many guys have gotten atleast 12 points, 8 rebs, 8 assist over much of there career like kidd. It will be a short list btw, i'll name one off for you OSCAR ROBERTSON. The point i'm trying to make is he has had troubles shooting (36% fg) but come on all you guys care about is shooting and fail to realise hisreb's, assist are better then usual, and because of the 36% he's garbage huh?

You're basing your evaluation of Jason Kidd on stats with no reference to actually watching him play. This is similar to the ESPN talking heads that claim Jason Kidd is a great defender. Not being able to hit a jump shot is a huge problem because it allows the defense to sag off you and makes it harder for the other 4 guys to score.

that is like saying Barbosa is on the rise and Nash is on the fall. It doesnt mean that you would take Barbosa over Nash. "You play to win the game" now, not 3 years from now. Dallas doesnt have time to develop a point guard right now (btw, letting Nash walk was obviously a mistake but Dallas cant go back in time)

Dallas is not in rebuilding mode. NJ is in rebuilding mode. This trade works for both teams imo.

everyone wants a premiere center, but fyi they dont exactly grow on trees. The teams that do have those rare kind of players are not very open to trading them.

as far as Dampier. He is in the "top half" when it comes to centers in the league. He is in the "second tier", but there arent many players in the "first tier"

they basically got Diop off of the scrap heap. They can find another center like that. Diop was good his first year, but he has been in Avery's doghouse lately. They werent going to resign him anyway...but they will certainly miss Diop.

Other than the Gasol trade the trade this year are pretty dumb like this one and the hawks trade

LOL yea because LA didnt have to give up anything. Usually, when you make a trade, you have to give up something. The Lakers were the exception.

btw, as far as Gasol, Dirk has played him quite a bit and Dirk has usually owned that matchup.

I am excited, we needed a true pg who can actually run the plays on the floor. A big man would be nice, but there is such a shortage of the 15 and 10 bigs. We are trying to win now and this deal helps us get there.

Good points but Dampier is about as bad as they come in the paint. He does absolutely nothing. The only reason he has lasted so long in Dallas is because no one else wants him!

Lol, don't worry about it, I wasn't really trying to diss you, you just misspelled "abnormally" really bad I think but I was talking more about your sentence structure. Too many run-on thoughts in a stream had me reading what you said like 3 times. But it's not a grammar test so don't take it as criticism.

yea i would bet they are going to sign another big man.

They still have their trade exception available.

EDIT: Dallas actually has around 5.0 mill left in their exceptions to use.

This is a great trade for Jersey also. They get younger, bigger and more money. They can sign a really big time free agent soon, and have a shot at being a contender. Richard Jefferson has been playing fantastic basketball this year, and some other pieces can make real use of him down the road.

Agreed. I'm excited to see Harris in NJ. I really like him as a player.
