Salary dump for a player who's health has been questionable all year.

Hornets getting in line for the LBJ sweepstakes? They'd have to move Stojakovic though.

Paul and LeBron on the same team?

Uh, no. They're cutting salary to avoid having to move the team. They're not in any kind of position to attract a big-time free agent, much less pay the $20 mill contract he'll have. Plus it's a crappy market. Not happening... and if that's even in the back of their minds regarding this Chandler trade, they're delusional.

They're in danger of moving the franchise again? I don't follow the financials of the NBA these days.

If Chandler gets healthy again, this could be huge for NOK. Time will tell. They were already improving and playing very hard, and they still lack any depth, but their starting lineup is decent now. They need a shooting Guard though. If they had Raja Bell, I'd be all over them in 2k9, LOL. Might still be.

Like I said in the trade deadline thread, if i'm NO i'm taking that deal and laughing in the rearview. Chandler had what, 1 or 2 good seasons, when he's not hurt? Wilcox alone can put up what he was putting up, plus Joe Smith (if they don't waive him) is a vet and can give them a 6'10 guy with a jumper and decent interior d. I know its mainly a salary dump but it makes basketball sense too. I see certain guys on here (i.e. Jermaine O'Neal) are being criminally underrated.

The superpowers in the West have BIG forwards/centers. NO had a defensive answer for that, and now they don't. Tim Duncan is going to DESTROY NO this year without Chandler. IMO, NO was a shooting guard away from being just as scary as anyone. Now I don't know how they compete with the size of the top five teams in the league. I expect Duncan, Gasol and Bynum to hit a billion easy 3 foot hookshots on them. And now they only have to worry about the West pick and roll. No more Chandler dunking on them for easy, momentum building buckets in the half court.

Chris Paul is an amazing player, so he might make this look like a good deal for a few weeks, but come May they'll miss him terribly.

This move will come back to bite NO in the *** come April.

Other than financially, I really don't see how this remotely makes NO any better.

But it doesn't make them worse either.

Oh and you can best believe Dallas hasn't forgot about last year's playoff matchup so if these two meet up again, you can believe Dallas will be looking to embarrass NO, which they could possibly do now after NO made this deal.

As a Thunder fan, I like the deal. Should make the team more competitive next year (especially if we can get another guard with a high draft pick). OKC/Seattle hasn't had a legitimate center for a long time now and finally gets one.

Wilcox has talent, but he wasn't getting that much playing time and was an expiring. Joe Smith is a decent bench player but essentially just an expiring contract.

OKC wasn't in any position to get into the FA market because of having to resign Durant/Green/Westbrook so the expiring contracts held no value to them, and most of the players that teams are willing to trade for expiring contracts are older and wouldn't really fit in OKC's plans.

I like the trade for OKC.

If Chandler gets healthy, this is a great trade for OKC. With all the draft picks they have, the future is looking very bright, Put your shades on .

Hornets loo like they will be a exiting first round this year. Poor CP3.
