    Re: Official Completed Trades Thread

    It's official

The New Orleans Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder have completed a deal that sends center Tyson Chandler to the Thunder, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources with knowledge of the trade parameters told ESPN.com that the deal was approved by the league office Tuesday afternoon, with the Hornets receiving forwards Joe Smith and Chris Wilcox in exchange for their best interior defender.
The deal has yet to be announced by the teams, but sources say that the Hornets will also receive the draft rights to Devon Hardin, who was selected No. 50 overall by the Thunder in the 2008 draft.

        Re: Official Completed Trades Thread

        Thread updated.

Chandler and Wilcox posted similar numbers this year. And Smith should provide a nice back up off the bench.

Seeing it was a financial issue, it wasn't that bad of a deal.

If it were the Chandler of last year no way this deal would have happened.

Too bad we will never see them oop's again.

Salary dump for New Orleans. If the Cavs did something like this, you'd be reading a bunch of articles about LeBron wanting to leave, but apparently Chris Paul will be satisfied playing for a penny-pinching owner.
I'm upset about it because there is no chance that Joe Smith will be bought out and re-sign with the Cavs. I was hoping that if he wasn't traded, the team formerly known as the Sonics would buy him out and the Cavs could bring him back to be their 4th big. Since the Hornets are in the playoff race, they won't be letting him go.

Wonder how the Hornets suckered the Thunder in to trading for an injured Center.

I feel bad for Chris Paul. Thunder will be probably start to string together a few modest win streaks during the second half.

just a horrible deal for the Thunder. way to take on a mediocre big man with a horrible contract for 2 expirings. and one of the guys the hornets got can actually score compared to the offensive anemic tyson chandler.

what are the thunder thinking. they are really far away from contending and they bring a center who is making big cash and can't stay healthy and can't do anything other than block shots

CP3 needs to get out of that damn syrupy slow offense anyway... maybe this will cause him to leave sooner than later so we can see what kind of numbers he can really put up in a normal or fast-paced situation.
