OKC wasn't in any position to get into the FA market because of having to resign Durant/Green/Westbrook so the expiring contracts held no value to them, and most of the players that teams are willing to trade for expiring contracts are older and wouldn't really fit in OKC's plans.

I like the trade for OKC.
Yea it seems they were pretty inept in drafting a C.

    Swift, Sene, Petro, Stepania.

    What horrible picks.

So Chandler does fill a position which they've shown they have no idea how to draft - for over a decade.

IMO it was a good trade for the Thunder I have always liked Chandler even in his Chicago days I say he just needed to be on the right team.

i don't understand the ppl saying that this trade doesn't hurt new orleans b/c wilcox puts up the same stats as chandler. yeah but he doesn't play the same defense, and that's what chandler's value is, a defender. this goes back to the basic understanding of basketball.

NO has no chance in a seriers against the teams with good bigs in the west. LAL, SA, even teams like utah and denver will ABUSE them inside.

Wilcox was able to score on a bad team and not play defense bottom line. Horrible trade for the Hornets. Good for Western conference teams.

I agree in it being a bad move for New Orleans. You don't just give up size like that for mediocrity.

If the Hornets don't pick up a BIG name this Summer, then they should be absolutely blasted by their fans. Like Born said, all they needed was a two-guard. I was even higher on the Hornets than anyone here I bet.. now they simply don't have a shot in Hell to win the West.

RIP to any title hopes they had this year.

If they had Raja Bell, I'd be all over them in 2k9, LOL. Might still be.

Hope New Orleans fans are happy w/George Shinn. This is one of the main reasons why the team fell out of favor in Charlotte. The guy whines & begs for the city to spend tax money for a new home, but refuses to spend any money himself to keep a young, promising team together.

Hmm, didn't really expect this one. I guess the Kings feel that Hawes can hold down the middle while they're busy tanking the season for a high pick. Seems odd that they'd lose Salmons (their best player this year aside from a healthy Martin), but I guess they think that Nocioni can replace some of his scoring output.

Guess that puts a fork in the Salmons-to-Portland and the anyone-to-Chicago rumors, which is good.

I hate George Shinn with the biggest passion that you can hate a guy. I wish the Hornets would get a new owner, I don't want New Orleans to get the same treatment that Charlotte got.
