I'm sure he is capable of doing other things but he keeps doing the same dunks over and over again. If he gets in a does the same free throw dunks for every dunk it won't be nothing new to see. I want to see guys pull out the stuff that we HAVEN'T seen on the NBA level like between the leg 360's,540's,behind the back 360's, and others.
I get your point, but to not want him in the contest is somewhat absurd.

Being on the NBA dunk contest stage may propel him to do things one could only dream of.

I didn't say I didn't want him in. I said I don't know if I do or not. I'm still kind of on the fence about it lol. I mean I have seen EVERY dunk contest he has been in since high school and was excited to see if he would bring something new and he did the same stuff every time. He did it in college, pro level over seas, and the NBDL.

I hope you are right though and he does bring some new things out. I without a doubt believe he can. It's just his track record says he won't.

I kinda see where you're coming from. He's been doing the windmill from FT line since his elementary school dunk contest probably. He's got ridiculous jumping for sure but I really do hope he doesn't just rehash the dunks he's been doing all his life and really tries to think outside the box with something new.

Yea I know what T is sayin (I ain't callin another man Pretty ); but we have seen James White do those same dunks for years. It might be better than everyone else, but he should break out something new.

Almost like 2K Basketball. Same thing for years, might be better than the rest; but we just neeed and want to see something different
          Concrete evidence/videos please

            1. Even for the 100th time, I'd still rather watch the GOAT dunk than other lames.

            2. He hasn't gotten to show out on the big stage. Are you going to bust out your best dunks in a Turkish Dunk Contest? The D Leagues? No. You save it for the NBA.

I could see that if we where talking about somebody else. White takes pride in dunk contest and says he wants to win every one he is in and takes them seriously.

Plus he has been on the highest possible stage for his level twice and did the EXACT same dunks. In high school he was in the Micky D's dunk contest and made a name for himself with his dunks. Then in college on another national TV dunk contest he did the SAME exact dunks and lost. Then in every other dunk contest after that it was again the SAME dunks.

Like I said they are great dunks and all but I don't want to be sitting there during the dunk contest and see a guy do the SAME dunks I saw him NINE YEARS AGO. It's just not that impressive anymore. It like been there done that show me something new.

I'd rather see James White windmilling and going between the legs from the foul line than seeing the other losers in the NBA just barely dunking from a foot in front of the foul line.

If nothing else, James White would cause the elimination of the foul line dunk, and everyone should be in favor of that.

His HS dunk contest dunks were different from his college dunks.

Not to mention Lee didn't beat him in reality, neither did Noel in college.

Lee and Noel's dunks were ****ty excuse my language compared to White's

My bad you right they where different but his HS dunks where BETTER than his college dunk contest. His first dunk was a windmill from outside the paint. He did a reverse windmill jumping from outside the paint, going under the rim, and finishing it on the other side. The second dunk in college was the SAME two handed dunk from the free throw he did in HS. The third was a windmill from the line. So he had ONE different dunk than from HS. He then missed both attempts at a fourth dunk.

Yes he was robbed in the HS dunk contest but Noel won fair and square. White missed his last dunks and ran out of time. That's how he lost. If he would have made the dunk he would have won easily.

IMO it is already a dead dunk. Somebody has done a free throw line dunk EVERY year for the past how ever many years and the scores are going down each time. Hell Dwight is a 7 footer who jumped from the line this year and they looked at it like a regular dunk.

White's windmill dunk from the FT line in the college contest is probably a top 4 dunk in any contest in history, which James' FT line in between the legs dunk is on that list. At least in my view.

Every single one of Noel's dunks were trash, and that's being kind. You're right though White messed up by not making a single dunk..

Your right. I'm not disputing the greatness of his dunks. Like I said before I love the guy's dunking and leaping ability. I just want to see something new. Give us some variety not the same dunks every year over and over again.

Take this year's dunks he did in the D- League contest as example. The first one was the SAME one hand free throw line dunk he did in HS. The second was the SAME two hand windmill from college just at a easier angle. The third was the same thing Josh Smith did years ago except Josh did a windmill. His last dunk was the SAME free throw line windmill from the college contest. They where all GREAT dunks but they where the same dunks we have seen from him for YEARS. It's like he just says I'm going to dunk from the free throw line no matter what.

Hey lay off my Tar Heel Noel now lol. His first dunk was very nice. Can't argue with you about the other three though lol

How the hell did Noel get into the final?? hahaha, I thought he'd definitely make it as a role player with the Bucks. . oh well

I wish Noel would have stayed on the football field and pursued the NFL instead of the NBA. I believe he could have had a decent NFL career. There where a few teams looking at him before he went in the NBA draft. He could be a hell of a tight end.

He could still make it in the NBA if he develops a decent jumpshot. He has the defense part of it his offensive game that is hurting him.

If they could get LeBron, Kobe, Wade and Dwight all in the dunk contest it would be the highest rating contest in history. Four of the best (and most popular) in their primes going at it, no gimmicks, less do overs = ratings gold imo.

It doesn't really matter if White, Richardson, Robinson or whoever is a better dunker it's the big names that attract the big crowds and make the big dollars imo.

If you go back and watch the Jordan vs Nique contests the dunks themselves aren't THAT special compared to what guys can do now but the sheer fact that the two allstars had enough drive to enter the comp and give it their best makes it special.
