Re: 2010 Dunk Contest
Why didn't Shaq try calling out some stars that are younger and have no excuse for declining a dunk contest for charity. Let's not bother the old guys and just go with a nice mix of stars and young'ns:
LeBron James
Dwyane Wade
Demar DeRozan
Terrence Williams
Josh Smith
Dwight Howard
Shannon Brown
Russell WestbrookMLB: New York Yankees
NBA: New Jersey Nets
NFL: Detroit Lions / New York Giants
NCAA: UNC

Re: 2010 Dunk Contest
Gerald Wallace over Terrance Williams is a travesty.
I'm pretty sure Josh Smith, Dwight, Iggy, Rudy Gay etc. all declined. I would love for all of them to be in it though.
LeBron, Terrance Williams, Sonny Weems, JR Smith, Westbrook, Brown, DeRozan.. that would be my ideal lineup.Comment

Re: 2010 Dunk Contest
I know one thing I am sick and tired of seeing Nate in the dunk contest. He shouldn't have won the two that he did and I an tired of seeing him get the undeserved high scores on his dunks just because he is little. The whole lil man gimmick has ran its course. Let somebody else come in cause Nate just doesn't impress me in the dunk contest anymore. His second dunk last year was the absolute worst dunk I have ever seen in a dunk contest and they gave him a high score just to put him in the finals. Hell it shouldn't have even counted.

Re: 2010 Dunk Contest
You mean this? You mean you didn't absolutely love the sheer athleticism on display?

Re: Gerald Wallace, I think he was never going to do it.
For the reveal of the contestants, they had a speed painter do portraits... anything look different about Wallace's portrait?

Re: 2010 Dunk Contest
I didn't read every post, sbut I'm sure this has been said already. The dunk contest really died when the NBA started 'inviting' participants. I remember when whoever wanted in could get in. Even weak dunkers (remember Bob Sura?) could get a go at it. It was more exciting and less gimmicky then. If it went back to that format, it would get tons more attention in my opinion. Let whoever thinks they have the skills get in. Things tend to get more meaningful when the best are competing. Pride and bragging rights bring out the best in people.Comment
