Some of the best dunks I have ever seen in person were from Mike Taylor during warm ups at Thunder games.

As a life-long fan of the NBA Dunk Contest, I'm excited to see the 2010 contest gaining some extremely early momentum. With someone the stature of Lebron James looking to move the contest back to its roots (dunking good dunks) and looking to bring some of his brethren along for the ride, this may have the potential to be something big. . .or it might just turn out to be a giant letdown. Either way, James striving for change a year in advance is very encouraging. The Dunk Contest has the potential to be a beautiful thing.

LeBron James now has second thoughts about participating in this year's dunk contest, saying he's "50-50" about taking part. James felt last year's contest was too "watered down" and his participation might revive the weekend's signature event.
"I'm like 50-50 right now," he said Wednesday night before a game against Phoenix. "I don't know if you can get it back to the 80s and like in '98 when Vince (Carter) was in it. It was more about the dunks and less about what was going on around the dunks. We'll see what happens."

You don't steal the spotlight [last year] and announce that you're going to "bring the stars back to the contest" by entering.. only to get cold feet when the time comes to put your money where your mouth is.

That's my issue. Dudes always have to be in the spotlight. If you're not going to follow through with it then don't say anything to begin with

It'll be a letdown if he doesn't join now since a lot of fans were expecting him to be in it this year. He at the very least should join even if he can't get other guys to join him.
