Re: ThreeKing's Greatest 50 players in NBA History
Next time, I'll preface it with why.
I personally love the back and forth. Some dudes get pissed, some don't. It's all good.
I think some guys are nuts with the Kobe love, but it also doesn't mean I don't respect your opinion either.Comment

So...what's your criteria for your Top 50?Comment

Re: ThreeKing's Greatest 50 players in NBA History
EVERYTHING.
Stats, championships, basketball IQ, etc, off-court stuff as well.
The off-the-court stuff played a minor factor, but it played a factor nonetheless.
And in case people were wondering why Kobe is down towards the bottom, it's because his basketball IQ is some of the worst I have ever seen. It has gotten better, but it's still bad.
It's a shame, because his talent is off the charts imo. But his IQ is horrible. His game, metaphorically speaking, is like one of your buddies at the club, who is a good lookin' cat, but c*** blocks himself due to his lack of mouth game.
That's Kobe. All that talent, all that hard work, but he lets his ego drag him down. He is the epitome of the "me" first player. I can't give a ton of love to a player like that.
Ya'll want to put him up there because of his talent, fine. But this list consists of everything.Comment

Well, me personally I don't/didn't have a beef with where you had because that's your list. My issue or I should say "opinion" was what criteria was used to come up with this "list".
And i'm pretty sure if you had mentioned what it was from the get-go and been real with this list, folks wouldn't have had as much as issue with it and the thread probably wouldn't even been this long in the first place.#RespectTheCultureComment

I'll make sure I do that next time.

Re: ThreeKing's Greatest 50 players in NBA History
All these lists seem to have one thing in common:
Jordan is always number one. No one ever seem to argue other wise. Is it really that clear cut? Is the gap between him and the rest of the top 5 players really that wide? Is he really the G.O.A.T bar none? Could Russell, Wilt, Magic.....etc ever be considered greatest of all time?New Zealand Warriors - All Blacks - Auckland Blues - New Orleans Saints - Orlando Magic - Queensland League

If we are going by most dominating in his era, then Wilt or Russell are #1. If we are going by Rings...well, Russell is #1 as well.
But Jordan was the best during his era and completely revolutionized the NBA, so he gets a lot of GOAT's.
Personally, I think you could make a case for Russell, KAJ, or Jordan as GOAT.Too Old To Game Club
Urban Meyer is lol.Comment

Re: ThreeKing's Greatest 50 players in NBA History
Jordan was the best ever obviously imo, but he didnt have to deal with teams like the '80s Celtics or '80s Lakers. If he had, I doubt MJ would have won as many championships (not dissing the 90s Blazers or 90s Jazz)Comment

If Bryant's IQ is the worst you have ever seen then you obviously have not watched alot of basketball or you have not been watching very closely.
You have made many egregious selections like Maravich, Ewing, Robinson, and Malone to name a few.Comment

Re: ThreeKing's Greatest 50 players in NBA History
I don't think you are an idiot but you have some learning to do about this great game and its players. Kobe knows how to play the game and his IQ is higher than Gervin's, Ewing's, and Maraviches' easily. You can't be this productive in a complex system like the triangle offense without some understanding of the game. If you are talking about questionable shot selection from Bryant then I would agree. (it has improved as of late though).
