@ neovmatrix You're right. I dont know about you. But I only know so much about Jordan since I didnt grow up watching him. And thats the same with a lot of us here. So we're kinda mixing things up between how he was in the mid to late 90's and his stint with the wizards.
I think Athletes reach a point where they are at peace with themselves and dont have to worry about being cocky and they even come of as humble. But its mostly tied to maturity which is tied to age.
I cannot imagine a 35 year old MJ sounding "cocky" although he always knew he was the best. But I can imagine the young MJ being like that.
That being said I feel its best we compare players like Kobe to their peers(i.e Tracy, A.I. Vince etc) rather than comparing them with legends like Mike that do no wrong in our eyes.

I gave a direct quote from MJ in an earlier post, and you didn't read it. You only assume what MJ has said, and I gave you one good direct quote from MJ's mouth. The Pistons and Knicks needed to get their egos blown away because they basically tried to hurt MJ and Pip, and other players in the games they played.
Kobe is just running his mouth. He doesn't face constant triple teams with no Shaq. If he had played against those Pistons of the late 80's early 90's he would have been tossed like a salad.
