Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
Great post overall, Czar, but I think the jumpshot issue is a big deal when you're comparing him to the top PGs in the league for two reasons: lineups and Team USA.
When I say lineups, I mean that his current team and offensive scheme cater very much towards his strengths, and that's good. But if you put him on a team that is less motion and screen oriented, but more inside-out post up oriented, his lack of a jumper could really hurt. If he's dropping it down to a post player, you get a free double team, and you'd have to have the SG dump it into the post so Rajon's man has to come all the way from the weakside, and this limits your offensive options. Right now, with Ray, PP, House and big men who can hit a jumper, Boston doesn't suffer from this.
The other issue is Team USA. When we're evaluating the best PGs in the league and selecting three to get us a gold medal, we have to make the right choice. In international play, they zone up and outshoot us. When that happens, we need people who can get buckets no matter what. Eventually you gotta penetrate, but sometimes you need a shot maker to flat out bust that zone.
We saw it this past summer...some of those younger dudes were getting desperate out there, and they had to put the ball in the hands of players who were going to make shots, and not get frozen up by that zone.
So I agree that when you describe Rondo, the first thing that comes out of your mouth shouldn't be "he has no jumper". Nor should the second thing. But eventually when you're looking at his report card, you gotta explain why he has a D in science, and know not to put him in the lab.Catch me on that #SimNation #SimHangOut Friday's @ 10:00 pm est https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...N7yxMiElOpMl_BComment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
Quit acting as if Kidd never had players. Before Ray,KG,and PP came together it was only one for sure HOF player and that was KG but by winning a ring Ray and PP became Sure Fire HOF players.
Jim Jackson,Jamal Mashburn----PRIME before injuries just young but just as good or even better than THE out of Prime Ray Allen and Pierce we are seeing
Steve Nash,Kevin Johnson,Antonio McDyess,Danny Manning,Clifford Robinson-------That team was pretty damn good
Vince and Jefferson is arguably a better duo than Pierce and Allen right now
Yes he does play with HOF'mers but don't act as if they're still in they're primesComment

And you got all that just from my one post?
Whoever said Reading is Fundamental was a damn lie...#RespectTheCultureComment

And you must not have watched many Nets games if you think Carter/RJ then was is better than PP/RA now, and this is coming from a die hard Nets fan and a die hard VC/RJ fan.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
It is hilarious to me that you want to say we all are hating cause we are pointing out something that even YOURSELF has stated to be true. So are you hating too??
I know he's not a good shooter but I don't discredit him and say he's not elite because he has a flaw in his game.Every point guard has a flaw in they're game and even Michael Jordan had things to work on does that take him out of the elite category?
Like I said even without a jump shot Rondo is playing the best ball of any pg in this year playoffs.
The fact that you picked out Born's post as a diss post show you have some serious blinders on.
I didn't take it as a diss,This is a discussion and I stated my point that you could put almost any player in the wrong system and they would suffer TRUE or NOT?
All it said was the system he is in now benefits his skills. If he played in a half court system or a post oriented system his numbers and production wouldn't be as good. That is FACT. There isn't a diss in that at all.
FACT? How? I do believe the Celtics WON a ring Based on Defense and Half Court execution.
I've never known the Celtics to be a fast pace team so when did that become about? You do realize Rondo gets 85% of his production in a half court setting right?Penetrating and pick n rolls and pick n pops running a motion offense when Pierce isn't isolating.
It's not like he's playing in L.A.,New York,Denver,or Phoenix.
Lastly your lil analysis of the Hornets/Nuggets series shows just how much you DIDN'T watch that series. No Jones was NOT guarding Peja. Jones spent at least 90 percent of his time on the court guarding Paul. That was his ONLY purpose on the court was to guard Paul. The only time Martin or anybody else was on Paul was switching the sreen and roll.
Exactly my pointThe Nuggets switched EVERYTIME so if Nene,Martin,Melo,,or Birdman was guarding Paul who would that leave Jones with? So instead of Paul exploiting his mismatch he put it on the shoulders of Peja or West to exploit they'res...That's not what your FRANCHISE player is suppose to do!
EDIT--- Your lil youtube clip show just how much you didn't watch that series either. You show a game recap where Pargo took two shots in that clip and one was off a loose ball broken play set up by PAUL. Paul has 18 and 14 in that game and set up Pargo's shots so how again did Pargo dominate the ball?? Kind of hard to have 14 assists with somebody ELSE dominating the ball.

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
They were ARGUABLY....Difference between that Celtics team and the Nets team is the Forwards,Centers, and Bench. You put KG on that team and you have a ring too
I mean they both averaged above 22 ppg neither Pierce(Maybe) or Allen is doing thatComment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
LMAO at this dude trying to say RJ and VC are better than Ray Allen and Paul Pierce to make Rondo look better.. lmaoComment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
Like I said Before the BIG 3 Joined it was only one SURE HOF player(KG)
Ray and Pierce was in the same boat as other wing players McGrady,Carter,Michael Redd,etc...
Quit trying to Act like KG,Pierce, and Allen are still in they're primes.Comment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
You do know that when RJ was here, other than getting his points in the transition(which would normally be created by Kidd)he had no Offense to speak of, right? As much as I love RJ, other than the same "Catch ball at 3 pt line, jab step twice and shoot", that was it.
And before you ask, he wasn't moved because of performance, he was moved because the team wanted to clear cap space for the mythical offseason that is 2010, where they magically expect us to go from a below average team to perennial power in one summer.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: What Do You Think About RAJON RONDO?
Pierce and Ray Allen before was 1. Not in the playoffs 2.Out The 1st round
and that goes for KG too.
So put Ray Allen,KG,and Pierce together they become a elite team and now they're 1st ballot HOF's and untouchable LMAO.
2004/2005 Vince Carter and Richard Jefferson are arguable better than 2008/2009 Pierce and Allen what's so hard to understand that?
Prime Vince Carter is ARGUABLE Better than Both of them in they're primes
Vince 27.5,,,,4.7 assist,,,,5.9 rebounds,,,46%
Jefferson 22.2,,,4 assist,,,7.3 rebounds,,,,42%
Pierce 20.5,,,3.6 assist,,,,,,5.6 Rebounds,, 45%
Ray Allen 18.2,,,,2.8 assist,,,,3.5 rebounds ,,,48%
What's the better combo?Comment

I asked a question about when and where has Kidd ever had 3 HOFers and so far that question has yet to be answered.
So with all that, you basically proved my point in that whoever said Reading is Fundamental is a damn lie.
Anyway, back to the Rondo discussion ya'll were having before I interrupted it...#RespectTheCultureComment
