Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Jazz probably don't want him either. I'm just speculating here but I would guess that they want to keep the younger Paul Millsap over Boozer much like the Lakers probably want to keep the younger Ariza over Odom.NFL: Bills

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Yeah that will be really interesting. I can't really think of a place right now that's a good fit for him though honestly -- unless he's willing to play PG, there's not many destinations for a guy like him. He could end up being a feature somewhere like Sacramento alongside Martin, but I think they're looking to stay young and work through the draft... The Thunder would be interesting, though he'd clearly be taking a backseat to Durant -- the Westbrook/AI combo guard duo would be tough to contain but nothing on defense. I can't really think of any contenders who need a slasher/scorer who isn't tall enough for SG -- Ben Gordon is probably taking whatever spot was available there since he's younger and a better shooter.
What do you guys think? Any ideas? I'm mostly drawing blanks, but all the semi-realistic choices are bottom of the barrel teams that would basically do it for the boost in revenue/exposure. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up just retiring.. That would make me very sad, but the climate doesn't look great for AI this year, especially after he renewed character or commitment questions due to the Detroit debacle... seemed that stuff was behind him, but I know they'll be questioning him now.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

AI = BobcatsComment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Yeah that was the other main one I was thinking. But Larry Brown kinda poo-poo'd that by basically saying that AI wants a championship (and he wants him to get one), and the Bobcats aren't exactly in contention right now. I'd be surprised if he goes there, but that's probably the best fit basketball-wise, though it would probably stunt DJ Augustine's growth a bit if he has to ocme off the bench for AI.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Yeah, the thought of him retiring crossed my mind and I think he'll contemplate it if he can't find a good fit. The rumors of him going to Charlotte, although he's recently been seen in the area, are a bit overblown imo as it is not what he wants, which is a title.
His situation doesn't look good I agree. If he starts he needs a bigger guard beside him to take defensive responsibilities off of him.
He's not a pg and he never was. Damn, he's 34 years old.NBAComment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Yeah he basically needs to be paired with a big PG or a big combo guard who he can split ball-handling duties with.. he's not a true PG but he still controls the ball like one. Also, the team needs to not have a real go-to scorer who creates his own shots easily, as that is what a team would be trying to acquire by getting AI, since that's really all he can add at this point in his career.
I can't think of any team that meets both of those criteria. Of the top teams, I could only really see Utah, Denver (heh yeah, not bloody likely), maybe Miami (Wade/AI splitting handling duties would be uh, scary)...
Otherwise, the Raptors is kind of intriguing simply because they really do not have anyone who creates their own shots from the perimeter. Calderon is big enough that pairing him with AI isn't the most terrible thing in the world (again, defense would be horrendous with those 2). I dunno, it'll be tough for him, but I hope some competitive team takes a chance on him so we can see him play some meaningful games again.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment
