Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
But according to some of ya'll, that will be the case with any team Lebron plays against in the playoffs, isn't it? :-))#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Pack,
Are the Griz entertaining trade offers for the second pick?
Absolutely. Sacramento, Houston, Boston, Minnesota, Washington and New York are among the teams that have made offers -- some ridiculous.
Are there any potential trades scenarios that have gone underreported?
Sure. The New Jersey Nets are said to be willing to part with point guard Devin Harris. The Griz should ponder if Harris is worth the second pick.Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Why/Who would that be great for, Kash?
Anyway, that is obviously a rumor started the Memphis press because neither Thorn or Vanderweghe have ever said that they would trade Devin for the 2nd pick. As a matter of fact, the only thing they've said regarding picks is that they were open to trading DOWN a few spots in the 1st. Trading up for the 2nd pick would make ZERO sense and wouldn't benefit us in the least.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Now that the Cavs ownership deal is going through its final stages, the Yao to CLE speculation in China is already heating up...
Yao: Speculated move to Cleveland 'unknown'
Looks like the same brand of BS we get from the NY media, tho. Lots of wishful thinking from an handful of journalists with an agenda...feels strange being on other side of this crap. Check this one out from the China Daily. They talk about it like it's a done deal.
Yao open to becoming Cavaliers' 'x-factor'
Yao said nothing of the sort, lol.
I called this months ago...Ming would be perfect for us on and off the court, but there are so many rumored deals for CLE, it's gotten slap ridiculous.Last edited by HMcCoy; 06-19-2009, 05:25 AM.Hank's Custom Collectibles 3D printer/painter extraordinaireComment

We need an official "Cebby sarcastically mocks all trade speculation and flavor of the month evaluations" thread. Keep it up, bro, that shtick never gets old. How could the intranets possibly function without you keeping us all tethered to reality, lol?
Lopsided (Gasol) deals never (Garnett) ever (Mo Williams) happen, especially in such a booming economy, amrite?

Kind of how Kobe fans give a condescending sigh to bitter Tmac and Iverson fans.Comment

Ben Gordon's agent is reporting he has a 11 million dollar deal from the... Pistons.
No way Dumars does this and Gordon has a terrible agent. If you're going to bluff, at least pick a logical scenario.Comment

I was wondering if Yao wanted to stay in HOU after years of pretty much nothing.Comment

Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread
Probably the most important thing in this nonsense is that Yao will likely be a free agent next year anyway. If the Rockets wanted to clear cap space, they could do it then.
Give him a break. When his team is finally good enough to make the playoffs again, all they have to look forward to is being a footnote on the playoff resume of Lebron James. This will probably go on for nearly another decade. So if the prospect of your team--which is already much, much, much, much better than his team--getting even better via a lopsided deal brings out some sarcasm, you're in good enough position to take the high road and let it go.

It's not that the Cavs fans here have a history of hyping up trades like:
"Bucks trade Michael Redd and Charlie Villanueva and the 8th pick to Cleveland for Anderson Varejao, Daniel Gibson, Sasha Pavlovic and the 19th pick."
"The 11th pick makes that a completely different deal. I'd do that in a second.
Perhaps they could do something like the 2 other picks, Damon Jones, Boobie Gibson and Anderson Varejao to Golden State for Baron Davis...
LeBron, JO, and Davis would be pretty cool to see...if they are all healthy."
A few days ago it was Jamison and the #5 for Ben Wallace.
And now they'll get the second best center in the NBA for expiring contracts when Yao's contract is already expiring?
