Yeah, I've said it before, but with their top players in their mid 30s, injuries and fatigue are less excuses and something you have to accept.

The Spurs added a great swingman in Jefferson and two workhorses in Blair and McDyess.

The Celtics added a decent backup in Wallace but not much else. The Magic gained Carter but lost Hedu so thats a wash. I dont think that the addition of Shaq is going to get the Cavs past the C's or Orl.
That may be in fact true, however you have to take into account the amount of injuries there were last year during the playoffs. Injuries to major stars.

Andrew was hurt so I take that into account as well..

All things considered, I'm far from considering LA a "big favorite". They are certainly the favorites but there are 4-5 teams right behind them.

LA is a big favorite. Stop trying to be like bk with this.

All you LA fans and trying not to be homers.

Orlando got worse (barring Howard learning how to play offense), Cleveland did nothing, Boston got older, and San Antonio got older but got Jefferson but still haven't been close to the Lakers the last 2 years.

Granted, they still have to get past that dynasty in Portland and Anthony "Mike wants to be like me" Randolph, but I think they can do it.

With the exception of the last sentence, I sense heavy sarcasm in that post lol.

If Andrew had the durability of an A.C. Green, and the rest of the Laker core were all two years younger, I think most Lakers fans would be nauseatingly cocky about our chances at repeating. Since that isn't the reality of things, a quiet confidence is a much more reasonable stance to take.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I like the lakers chances, but it is all about health and matchups when you get to the playoffs.

He isnt going to start over Perkins. Having a healthy season out of the big 3 will help the C's more than Wallace.
or maybe player morale had something to do with it. Wallace isn't a player that rely's on athleticism so im sure he'll play much better this year.
