I honestly dont understand what the big deal is about Artest.
I've agreed with you lately, but....really? Come on now.

Artest has been a better player than Ariza in his career thus far obviously, but I dont know if he is going to be a better player for LA. Ron is good, but he is becoming something of a "tweener". While still a solid defender, Artest is not the lock down defender that he was, and he is becoming an inconsistent shooter. I dont know if Artest is going to fit in with the Lakers as well as people think. Ariza's play at the wing was a key to their championship last season.

If Ron comes in with the right attitude then he'll be just as effective as Trevor was.

On all of Ron's other teams he's sort of took on too big of a role. He's clearly not a 2nd fiddle, which in Sac/HOU he was forced to assume. Therefore you saw wild shot selection and him pressing on the offensive side.

This LA team up and down from the players to the coaching will be enough to control Ron's impulses.

As far as not being a "lockdown" defender, well he's about equal to Trevor defensively if not better. Trevor couldn't handle Melo/PP/Ron at all. Knowing how many bigger 2's and 3's there are out there Ron will fit the bill in matching up a lot better than Trevor would.
