Rondo is known to be cranky like a little baby during practices. He's gotten into plenty arguments with Doc, Allen, KG, Perk, and anyone else on the team. He has a temper, as some of you have seen against the Bulls last spring. Thats all we hear about here on the news and sports radio channels in Boston when there not talking about how great he's been playing since 08. He's getting better by the season and really picked it up when KG went down. I hope the Celts re-sign him.

Didn't Paul average more rebounds than Rondo last year?

I'll answer this question with a question.

Assuming the consensus is that Paul, Williams and Parker* are all better than Rondo:

Would Orlando be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would Cleveland be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would Chicago be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would New Jersey be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would Denver be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would Phoenix be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?
Would Dallas be better with a straight up trade for Rondo?

If you're a fan of any of those teams, feel free to offer whether or not you'd be happy with that trade from a homer's perspective.

Yeah he did. Rondo's a very good rebounder for a PG but I maintain unless you're bringing down Kidd rebound numbers, it's not that big of an asset. No one gushes about CP3's rebounding as a particular asset and I don't think it's really relevant for Rondo right now either. Rondo does have the ability to really raise his rebounds though so we'll see but until then...

As a New Jersey fan, I can say I wouldn't be happy with that trade at all. I don't know if Devin Harris makes the Celtics better or worse but I really think Rondo would struggle more on the Nets where he would be number one in the scouting reports. Coaches are gonna focus on stopping him and with such a huge flaw in his game (lack of jumper), he wouldn't quite thrive as much and I think we'd see a staggering drop in his efficiency stats.

Rondo's probably a top 5 PG for the Celtics team as it is structured right now, as in there are not 5 PGs that would help their team more than him. But at the same time, I think for other teams, Rondo is not the guy you would want carrying a heavier load. Just IMO.

Re: Is Rondo a top 5 PG?

Top 5 for TODAY? or Top 5 to have running your team for the next 5 years? Two entirely different questions.

If it's based on who I would want for this season..he's borderline.

If its a guy for the next 5-8 years or so, Id go,

                    1) Paul
                    2) Devin Harris
                    3) Derek Rose
                    4) Deron Williams
                    5) Rondo

Arenas is not a point guard. Foye is the point guard on that team.
Tony Parker doesn't play defense and nor does he try too.

Not really. I wouldn't say Williams is WAY better, but it's still neck and neck. I don't buy into the fact that Paul is clearly the best PG in the league. Williams has been dominating Paul since college.

No...Rondo doesn't open up the spacing on the floor

No...Cleveland needs another scorer, not another playmaker

No...Rondo isn't the scorer that Rose is

No...same as above, except change Rose to Harris

No...Rondo is to erratic...Chauncey is a calming presence

Maybe...Nash sucks as a defender, and Phoenix has plenty of weapons

Yes...Kidd is older now, and Rondo can do a lot of the same things as he

No, the top 5 are Paul, Williams, Billiups, Rose and Nash. Then it's Kidd then Rondo.
