There is a reason why Oden plays that many less minutes. It's because he can't stay on the floor that long because of foul trouble. Oden averages OVER six fouls per 36 mins. Meaning he would be fouled out of the game before he made it that far.

If you wanted to do a proper comparison you would compare Oden's year this season to Howard second year. In Howard's second year he lead the league in total rebounds and averaged 16 points and 13 rebounds. That was also at the age of 20 compared to Oden's 22. Those are numbers Oden can only dream of at this point in time. Until Oden learns how to not commit stupid fouls he will always be limited to around half of a game.
... It was the same story in college. I don't know if this is a result of his limited lateral movement or what.. but it's been one his biggest Achilles' heels.

      Boooo---wiiiieeeeee

Haunting the Blazers to this day.

Oden hurt again is really bad for the NBA. I hope Portland trades him. Give him a new start somewhere else. Maybe a Roy Hibbert for Greg Oden trade....

Then that's not really any better. There is no way a foul prone half time starter rookie season is more impressive than a rookie of the year level, starting all 82 games, and averaging a double double as a teenager rookie season. For Howard to come in as a rookie teenager fresh out of high school and rebound and produce like that is far more impressive than anything Oden has ever done.

It was and the sad part is he will never be able to learn how not to commit those stupid kind of fouls on the sideline. The outlook on his career is not all that promising at the moment. He will never be able to live up to the overly outrageous level of hype he had and will be looked at like a bust.

Oden has much more touch than Dwight Howard. I can see Oden developing somewhat of a midrange game...not the same for Howard.

Obviously, Oden is no Dwight Howard. Howard is a top 5-10 player in the NBA though. For Oden to even really compare to him is pretty good, IMO.

Then they wouldn't have him for the playoffs.

Hmm, maybe POR can still trade Oden for Bargnani.

Truth be told, he has a body of a 80 yr old man, very fragile.

He only played one year in college and miss sometime then plus he wasn't Ewing like in college

Damn, what's up with POR nowadays. Even thier coach Mcmillan is also injured during practice and is set to undergo surgery after rupturing his right achilles tendon. Must have been the arctic chill we have going on up here.

Portland has the worst luck with Centers picked within the top 5. While Walton did get them that ring, he was injury prone along with Sam Bowie and now Oden. Wow..
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Durant next to Roy and Aldridge is looking pretty good right now.
