Re: 2/1-2/7 NBA Discussion
A dead eye?
He averages like 2.5 a game. I'm not sure he's a dead eye but like J said, he's improved his perimeter game.
He's nothing special, at least not yet.
I'm giving him some leeway because him asserting himself offensively by being aggressive may not be the smartest thing for Memphis, considering they have Randolph, Gay and Mayo. I do believe he has the potential to become a "threat" on offense, but right now he is nothing special.
If they make the playoffs it'll be interesting to monitor how Conley handles the QB duties.Comment

Re: 2/1-2/7 NBA Discussion
Pau with the jab, yo somebody on the team had to say it. Get the f'n ball into Gasol and Bynum. It's simple.
5-3 on the roadie? Fail.
Gasol was asked about Bryant’s new record and offered politically correct – and believably authentic – commentary (“I’m proud of him; I congratulate him”) before adding the kicker: “Now we can focus on winning games again.” Bryant and Gasol have a good relationship, no doubt. There is a fundamental mutual respect, a shared obsession with the intricacies of the game and a necessary understanding that Bryant is the alpha male and Gasol is not.

Re: 2/1-2/7 NBA Discussion
They were discussing whether or not Kobe should have taken the last shot. Snow was adamant in saying that Kobe should have chucked it up, and Barry was saying how he made the right decision in passing it off.
Winer was sort of playing the fence and going against both of them, and when he said that Ron's shot wasn't contested at all you should have seen Snow's faceComment

yea he gets assists and whatever but thats more due to him being doubled and then passing, or trying to make ESPN with some highlight pass...instead of actively looking to get people easy shots.
I dont see the harm is letting bynum and pau get theres instead of dribbling around for 8 seconds trying to get shots to get a record that could have easily been had this year or next by just sharing the ball.
there was a game earlier in the season where he took liek 39 shots? or something ridiculous like that and the only person injured was artest....thats foolish to me.
I still think hes a great player but the "maturation" has appeared to be nothing more then him forcing himself to play with other as opposed to wanting to...
he still feels like HE has to be the one doing the winning...and thats the Kobe that i dont like watching...no matter how great he is.#SimnationComment

Re: 2/1-2/7 NBA Discussion
Well IMO he will change his approach soon or when it counts.
Give his teammates a lot of credit if they can constantly adjust to Kobe's every whim.
But I believe it'll look much like last year when the playoffs are looming, he'll look to create for others much more.
Right now if you follow LA close enough you will see that his teammates have not stepped to the plate outside of Pau. For example last night. There have been several wins for LA that should have been losses if not for Bryant.
So bottom line: Kobe has been pressing since his injury, but his teammates need to step it up as much as Kobe needs to facilitate. I'm guessing that both of these things happen as the season reaches its peak.Comment

When is Dwight Howard gonna learn to stop swatting shots into the 5th row and keep them in play instead?Originally posted by bradtxmaleI like 6 inches. Its not too thin and not too thick. You get the support your body needs.

I see GSW is on fire today.
just watching kobe play this year has just kinda proved the selfish label never really left him.

I don't know how many times I've seen Bynum give up post position, or get position and have a teammate swing the ball back around to Kobe. The Lakers are very good, and as a result, a lot of those guys end up coasting. When people coast, the balance of shots shifts towards the most aggressive person in the game.
If anything, it's a collective problem of simply not getting Gasol the ball enough. Bynum's opportunities have much more to do with Pau than they have to do with Bryant. Kobe looks to make the game easy for Andrew on a very, very consistent basis, and it has nothing to do with highlights.Comment
