Definitely not a fluid athlete. He plays hard and is a real big man, defends & rebounds. I think he'll be a serviceable center in the NBA. Don't think he'll ever score more than 8-10 ppg.

With the softness, I mean pieces, in place in Toronto he'd probably a good fit.

I'd rather take Favors or Cousins and move Dalembert's huge expiring contract for a SG upgrade. Dalembert doesn't want to be there and I'm not sure Philly management wants him there anymore either after he started showing up late for practices and games and demanding trades.
So you would take Willie Green over a potential star in Turner?

UK are even wilder in this forum.

And did you know Emo-bert has a trade kicker in his contract? And you wonder why he hasn't been traded yet. But it's for you looking from the outside in, huh?

I think one can make a compelling argument on why Philly could play the "potential" card here instead of taking the more polished player in Turner. If he had off the charts athleticism or was a great shooter, this pick would be a no brainer. However, he has neither....and if they're not going to contend anytime soon, would it be a total shocker if they chose potential over finished product?

        No.

Hey man, we're not trying to start fights. Just giving our opinion on the #2 pick in the NBA Draft. Like any draft, there are very few sure things, and Evan Turner is not a sure thing. I think he ends up being the pick....but like I've stated numerous times in this thread, don't expect him to be an alpha dog. Cousins and Favors have greater ceilings than Turner, and you'd be hard pressed to find many NBA insiders who feel differently. Of course, their basements are much greater too....but thus has always been the reality with top prospect Big Men.

Did I say anything about taking Green over Turner? Last I checked I didn't. I said trade for an upgrade, which is far from saying "play Willie Green!!". Hell, trade Dalembert for Rip Hamilton or Richard Jefferson.

Nothing said between myself or wildcatchild have anything to do with UK or us being UK fans. Both of us have said Favors would be the better pick over Cousins and he said he isn't sold on Cousins being better than Turner. It was brought up by someone else that his opinion may be biased towards Cousins (even though he specifically mentioned Favors AND Cousins, not just Cousins) since he is a UK fan, and then you saying "UK are even wilder" for no reason at all except the both of us happen to be UK fans. I guess we should go into every thread and post how Lakers/Cavs fans are wild since every thread turns into a Kobe love/hate fest. UK fans aren't wild, it's the posters who try to provoke UK fans for NO reason at all except to start ****.

But keep taking your shots, it's comical watching a blind man swing.

                Neither do I.

The Cousins/Favors and Turner thing reminds me of Dwight Howard and Okafor. Not that Cousins or Favors will be as good as Howard but in the sense that their ceiling is much higher.

                  Hmm.

To me both guys have a ton of upside.

Oak really didn't have much, but people thought he would be a horse for years.

Cousins/Favors are both huge question marks.

Nobody is a sure thing, but I get what you're saying, though. Turner (I can't call him Evan because that's my name ) could be just a fringe All Star. Or he could turn into a top 5 player in the game. Who knows? I certainly had no idea Paul Pierce and Dwyane Wade would turn out how they did.

Why would they take on old dudes like Rip or Jefferson aka Older Iguodala? You're not thinking correctly.

I have always thought Pierce turned out better than expected....there was a reason he went #10 in the '98 draft. He was good in college but was not a sure fire star.

As for Wade...well, let's just say I became a believer the day he dropped a triple double on UK in the 2003 Regional Final. I will now go slam my head against a brick wall like this .

He was projected to go much higher than #10. One of the biggest stories of that draft was how far Pierce fell. It was the era when GMs were obsessed with length, athleticism etc and Pierce wasn't an elite athlete. Good thing he had enough skills coming out of every orifice to become a HOFer.

Yeah, it was a big story...although at the time, I couldn't figure out why. Sure, he was a great collegian, but the only picks in front of him that I questioned was Robert Traylor and Jason Williams. Kandiman was a great unknown, Mike Bibby had won a National Championship, his teammate Lafrentz was a highly skilled big man, Carter and Jamison were both talented prospects, and then you had Traylor, White Chocholate, Larry Hughes (who was a one-and-done) and then Dirk and Pierce.
