I don't like it because of the national TV me attitude and I don't appreciate it because I think the three of them have had this idea hatched for the last 4 yrs. They all took the same amount of yrs 4 yrs ago so there was a possibility this could happen.

The three of them have changed the landscape of the NBA and I don't know if it's a good idea. Time will tell.

I blame the NBA as well for the CBA allowing this to happen.

And all the "legacy" talk kind of annoys me as well. No one can predict these things, so why bother saying things like "LeBron will never be as good as Kobe/Jordan because he wouldn't join a super-team". Even ruling him out of ever having a chance at being one of the greatest players ever is overreaction IMO. This team hasn't played yet, we have no idea what type of role LeBron will play. When KG joined the Celtics and changed the entire culture of that team, did it ever ruin his legacy because he needed to join Paul Pierce's team to win a chip?
Nice post. Everyone's coming out the woodworks to slam this decision, slam Lebron on a personal level, it's gotten crazy around here.

How could the CBA stop this? They didn't take max deals so the notion that "no more than 2 max deals" would have done anything is nonsense.

I put it like this it's not promised that the Miami Heat will win a championship. Only thing that is significant and definite is that they will make a run at the title just like the rest of the elite teams in the NBA.

You can't crown the Heat champions, because they have three of the greatest players in there prime right now on one team. Yes everyone knows they will be a different and better team, but until they prove they can get to the finals i am not buying into the hype surrounding them.

            CBA allowing what to happen?

As far as I know a free agent can go wherever he wants to

People are acting like this is prime shaq and duncan joining forces with prime jordan. They dont even have a roster yet, let alone all of the overreactions to 3 players being on one team as if its some new thing.

These guys took paycuts to play together.. its not something you see happen too often is it?

If anything im seeing more from the fans that they should've just continued trying to be Mr Everythings, especially when people complain about ego's and wanting to be the man. Whats the talk now? Ah its such and such team...

If they hoist a trophy do you really think they are going to give a rats behind? Seriously, whats the point of playing in the NBA..to win a ring not try to chase MJ's legacy in spite of it.

Media ridiculousness aside, its nothing wrong with signing with another team if you're a free agent, despite what some people say...

I dont however agree with the holding things up and all of that espn crap, nor do I agree with owners coming out trashing the products that make them money. Its stupid

They could always give players 2k ratings before the year starts and say only 2 players above a 90 allowed on each team lol.

People are saying that James should either have stayed in Cleveland, or if he signed somewhere else, to Chicago. My question is, how would the fans in Cleveland react if he signed in Chicago, or anywhere else other than Miami? Because I've always heard/read, that if he stays in Cleveland=loyalty, Chicago=Winning, and New York=Money. So if he didn't sign with Miami to make the Big Three, but didn't stay in Cleveland, would fans still be burning his jersey?

I think it's realistic to say that at least partially guaranteed contracts wouldn't have handicapped Cleveland and Toronto in their efforts to build around these guys. Also the practice of salary dumping, tanking, and the like gotta be addressed as well.

It's not about staying in Cleveland, it never has been. Nor is it about him going to Miami.

Sometimes, it does matter the path you take to get to a certain place. LeBron lost a lot of the people in Cleveland when he announced the TV thing. Even if he had come back, there would not have been the same level of worship from the city.

I said to myself i wouldn't post in this thread anymore, but I can't understand all of the anger and insults. Once a player signs a contract the ownership can move him around as they please and nobody says the owner is being disloyal or is a coward. Lebron, Wade, and Bosh exercise their rights as free agents to control as much as they can where they will play and all of this backlash?

We always get mad when guys take money over everything else, these guys want to win and win big and they are taking less money and still getting ripped. Because they want to team up and be a dominant team instead of all being the man on their own separate teams and this is the response they get.

Lastly, if Jordan had the legitimate chance to team up with Hakeem and Magic, you really think he would've said no? Jordan had Pippen another top 50 of all time. Kobe and Shaq had each other. Wade had Shaq, Bird had McChale, Parrish, and Johnson. Name one championship team that didn't have at least 2 HOF'ers on the team. Lebron was stuck with Jamison, Mo Williams and Delonte. If we were him, we would've jumped at the opportunity after 7 years of trying to make it work in Cleveland.

I think that it's been agreed upon that it's more the way that he left, with that unnecessary hour-long "The Decision" special, than it was the fact that he left. And if the stories about him not returning any phone calls or text messages after the end of the seasons are true, it really does come off as a big middle finger to Cleveland.

There was absolutely NO reason to handle it the way that he did.

Of course there would still be some crazies burning his jersey regardless (if he'd gone anywhere other than Cleveland, that is).

Your right. I meant the owners and Stern.

I just thing the CBA in it's current state needs to be tightened up somehow to prevent 3 superstars to teaming up or colluding again.

Agree, the CBA in it's current state couldn't prevent this from happening.

You have to admit that that "victory celebration" of an introduction was a bit over the top. I don't really care that they decided to make a super team, but they're getting real arrogant right now and are really acting like (Wade or Bron said as much) that ish was gonna be easy this season. A lot of what they said makes it seem like they think they're about to shut the NBA down for the forseeable future and while that MAY be true (though I doubt it), it wouldn't be a bad thing to show a little humility.

And I don't know what Jordan would've done (actually I have a very good idea but for the sake of argument I'll just use stick with the "I wasn't in that guy's head" response) but the fact still remains that he didn't attempt to link up with anyone. But when you mention Jordan teaming up, you're using that example in reference to which of these three players? Bosh is a certified sidekick and Wade already has a title w/o a super team (though he did have Shaq). If it's something to do w/ Lebron then he should probably stay out of any MJ discussions from here on out.
