I think you can come up with a way to criticize LeBron for leaving, regardless if it's Miami, Chicago, New York, New Jersey (or yes, even the Clippers).

I just still can't get over leaving the Cavaliers when they were so good the last two years. Yes, LeBron made them that good but he was just as good in 2007-08. Should have been MVP that year, too. Cleveland went 45-37 and pushed Boston to seven games.

They added Mo Williams and improved by 21 games. No, Mo didn't make them 21 games better, but it was a calculated move that made chemistry that much better.

I thought the Jamison move was as good of a move as you could make, and I guess I was wrong. But I challenge anyone who claims they thought it was a horrible move at the time.

At the end of the day, I have a hard time justifying why leaving was a good move. LeBron was cherished in Cleveland and the franchise did everything it could to win. That wasn't going to stop.

Again, what did people expect last night? The Miami Heat just signed 2 of the 3 best players in the league and another guy who is probably in the top 10 to a combined 300+ million dollars over the next few years. They had to come out and show arrogance and confidence. They couldn't come out saying "we're gunna do our best to win" that would not work. Hell when Shaq came here he guaranteed us a championship.

If people want to hate the Heat good let them hate. The NBA needs a villain and if its Miami then so be it. All it means is that the Heat did something spectacular because no one wastes their time hating on losers.

This whole "People have no right to be outraged" stuff needs to stop just as much as some of the over zealous outrage needs to. If you can't see how MIA just put a target on their backs for the rest of the league and anyone who's not a bandwagon Heat/LeBron fan, then you're basically sticking your head in the sand. Sure they did what any team would, but the way they and LeBron in particular, but Bosh and Wade as well handled this as some sort of a soap opera, with the culmination being that overly dramatic "The Decision" nonsense, definitely invited a lot of hate, and then the cocky victory celebration last night just sealed it. Miami is now the team everyone loves to hate, whether you like it or not.

Its not what he did its how he did it ..blah.. blah.. blah.. blah. This is the biggest cop out of them all. I'm sure ESPN and Lebron's Management had more to do with "The decision" than anything else. They saw a chance for a 1hr special and probably jammed it down LBJ's throat. I also hate when fans assume basketball players are invincible and are guaranteed 13+ years in the NBA. Anything could happen to end this guys career. As far as I see it, he honored his 7 year contract and no longer had any obligations to the Cavs or Cleveland. It's like Superman joining the Justice league. Is he any less of one of the best superheroes because he is being helped?? No

Lebron is the all-time leading scorer in Cavs history. He is also top 5 in almost every record category in cavs history. He made Cleveland basketball relevant these past couple of years and has made the city and Cavs a bunch of money. If the dont RETIRE his jersey its out of spite.

Lol I've never seen a athlete take a paycut and potential back seat then labeled a big ego/head. haha

I can see this and I'm not even a fan of LBJ.

I agree it was a good team, but the thing is it wasn't championship material and there wasn't much flexibility to fix that. Also LeBron had no true number 2/sidekick on that team like Kobe does with Pau or like Jordan had with Pippen.

That team wouldn't have been enough to overcome LA, Orlando and Boston and other teams in the East all would have been getting better (Bulls, Heat, etc) at the same time, so basketball-wise it wasn't that bad of a decision to leave. When you factor in loyalty and the way LeBron went about it, then it became a bad decision to leave.

LeBron's team approached ESPN, it was not the other way around. In any case it's just borderline ego maniacal to ask for an hour of TV time to celebrate yourself, whether it's for 'charity' or not.
