I don't honestly think anyone is trying to act like a team can't have 2 potential HOF'ers. What I think has disappointed so many people about Lebron is that someone with so much talent and ability has seemingly ducked a challenge. The challenge was of the belief that players of the ability and talent of a Lebron in the past knew they were good enough to win titles without having to join another guy of such ability and talent to do it. They knew not being able to do it probably said more about them than they wanted to believe. But they were determined to do it anyway and go down trying in the process.

But as we all know there are different levels of talent and ability. The 3 guys definitely in the conversation for the best currently has been Lebron, Kobe and Wade. That stuff fluctuates from year to year with injuries, age, improving your game, etc. So please don't use the Jordan-Pippen, Bird-McHale, etc because none of those comparisons had guys 1. in the same conversation of player and 2. those were done in what people believe were a more natural process. Jordan and Pippen didn't join together, they were brought together just like Bird-McHale, etc.

Even though MJ did not leave...Do you honestly think he would win jack without Scottie and the rest of his staff?

No he won't... get outta here. Those teams built around MJ. MJ didn't go and sign with Reggie and Isiah and say, "Hey guys, let's do this together! Shucks."

People take different paths to greatness. IMO anyone of right mind can't say that they would consider this a respectable path.

And with that said, he was full within his right to do what he did. But that's not the point. And guys here know that this is exactly what this conversation is about.

He was there for 7 years and got all he could out of the Cavs. This has been stated time and time again but no one has won a title without a great player alongside them. The Cavs had no one on their roster who would become a Pippen or McHale and didn't have the money to sign a better complimentary player.

Shaq left ORL when they lost in the finals although they had a pretty nice team did he not?

Did he not pawn LA against ORL to raise his salary to over 100 million

Did he not? Did he not decide to come to LA to do movies and rap music on top of that?

Point it, most recently it definitely has happened in this era of what have you done for me lately

He left Orlando on his own and Dwyane Wade wasn't "the man" for Miami when Shaq was first there.

The actual move of leaving Cleveland minus all of the outside factors is not what has me disappointed. Its the fact that a guy who wants to be called King went to a team with the guy of the same ability level as him aka challenging him for the crown and passed up what I believe has been the challenge for people who want to be the best player aka King. I said I thought Chicago was the best situation for him. If it was New York, Chicago, Cleveland, the Nets; I still would have felt he was facing that challenge.

I thought Shaq left Orl because he and Penny were'nt getting along, coupled with the things you mentioned. With Penny as with Kobe, it would seem to be a question of whose fort it was, when you talk about shaq and why he left ORl and was kicked out of LA. But I see your point concerning ORL.

Not disagreeing with any of your above points, but would you agree that Shaq left one situation of being the man for another and didn't join a team who had a guy in the same discussion as him?

Concerning, Miami, the question was not how he arrived but rather, how he left. When he left D-wade was the man.

Even if I agree on the pistons, you can only cite 2 examples out of all the years of championships in the NBA.
