    Then lock it up then.

Otherwise, what you expect to see? Hell, I guarantee this won't be the last time this conversation will be rehashed because it will be. And if anybody thinks I'm wrong, re-read this from the 1st page to now and tell me if you don't see the same convo over and over LOL.

That's why I'm not saying it as a mod. I don't want to talk about it and don't think anyone else does, but if they do feel free. The responses to oj's post weren't getting into it, so it seemed like there just wasn't a good argument against it. There have been plenty, I just don't think anyone wsnts to get unto it again.

Congratulations to LeBron for becoming the younges player to reach 20,000 points. Very happy for him, it's been an incredible journey, and I'm truly blessed to be able to witness LeBron's career from beginning to end in my prime years of memory.

          Long Live the King.

I believe he is the 8th fastest to do so, pretty impressive names in front of him...

I wonder if he's top 10 fastest as far as assists as well?

                Re: The LeBron James Thread

                Random stat for today..

LeBron James averages 26.0 PPG, 11.7 APG and 10.0 RPG Per 36 Minutes in clutch moments this season. He would end up as the Only player in NBA History to average a triple double in the Clutch.

Glad to see LeBron has shaken that "choke" tag. And if people still say he's not clutch, well, there's just no helping you

I think "clutch moments" are defined as the last 5 minutes of a game with the score +5 to -5

So, "clutch" has always bothered me. And this is NOT, I repeat NOT an indictment on LeBron. Its a complaint against "clutch"has I just don't see why points in the 4th quarter matter more than points in the first. I mean if you play well for 3 quarter, blow the fourth, people blast you for not being clutch, you suck for three quarters, show up in the 4th, and you're lauded as "clutch" a jumpshot in the first quarter is exactly the same as a jumpshot in the fourth quarter.

I don't see any value in "clutch"a stats is all.

                      Proceed.

That and the variable definition of "clutch" really bothers me

Well, except for the fact that there is absolutely no pressure in hitting a jumpshot in a tight game in the first quarter as opposed to the pressure of a rocking stadium, newspaper writers, coaches and teammates all with their eyes glued to you in the fourth quarter of a tight game. Yeah, if you leave that out then yeah they're definitely the same shot.

I had a big long response to why a clutch shot was more important than a normal shot.. But f*** it.

I started thinking more and if you played bad the first 3 quarters but came through at the end/clutch and got the win that's good... But what if you were hitting the shots in the first 3 quarters? You probably wouldn't have even needed the clutch shots to win the game, or have been in that close game situation.

So who's to say a first quarter point is more important than a 4th quarter point..

Anyways, in terms of the stat line about LeBron posted earlier, I think it's just to show that you can trust him to come through when the game is on the line. Which is still impressive.

While a 4th quarter shot might not be any more important than a 1st quarter shot the ability to finish off the close ball games with a win is definitely an important asset for a team to have.

I only posted that because somebody wanted to know what was considered clutch. And by the NBA that's the category a "clutch basket" falls under.
