Re: The LeBron James Thread
If we were getting Miami age LeBron, I be thinking "Championships or bust, bitches", but the over 54,000 career total minutes LeBron, I just want to see some solid playoff runs and no passive-aggressive social media drama. I know that I'm in the minority with that opinion.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I don’t understand what they’re doing. They sign LeBron and follow that up Rondo, Lance, McGee? They’re going to get more techs than FG’s. I’m going to assume they’re not done making deals though.
And even though it’s looking like a 100% lock GS wins it all again, you can’t just throw in the towel... anything can happen.

Yeah, I got to think they likely arent done. The 1st thing I wondered when I saw that they signed Rondo was, could it be that they may consider moving Lonzo. I doubt they will, but I thought maybe they had enough of Lavar after 1 yr,lol.
Does seem odd to add both Rondo and Lance to pair with Lebron, since Lebron teams are at their best when they surround Lebron with shooters instead of playmakers. So adding both of them along with Lonzo, seems kind of odd when none of them are good perimeter shooters. Although I do think Lonzo's shooting will get better, and with Lebron he will likely get more open shots.
I had to laugh when I saw that they signed Lance, Im going to miss seeing Lance annoying Lebron, as you always knew when we played Lebron, that there would be 2 shows, the regular game, and the game Lance would play to annoy Lebron.
I was surprised that we didnt keep Lance, for all his antics, he was a key piece. So I was disappointed that we didnt keep Lance.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Yeah that's what I mean.
I'am really excited and surprised (in a good way) that Lebron came because he put the lakers back in the picture but at the moment I don't really see how we (eat that dub) are going to win a championship in the next couple of years. Will see though, might be a huge off season next year.Comment

On a serious note, 2019 title is definitely out the window for anyone not named GS barring major injuries. Their only legit competition was Houston and it looks like they are going to be worse next year rather than improved. They already lost their best KD defender and are cap strapped.
Golden State's biggest problem this coming season will be figuring out how to balance their starting 5 once Boogie is healthy with their death lineup.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I still wouldn’t count out Boston if they stay healthy... it would obviously be an upset if they beat GS, but returning Kyrie and Hayward? Maybe Tatum and Brown improve some more over the offseason too. Can’t completely count that out with Stevens coaching them IMO.
Either way I’ll still be watching and enjoying the season. The Pacers weren’t winning it all anyway lol. Just ready to see what improvements our young guys make and if we can win a playoff series or 2 then I’m good.

Yeah, a healthy Hayward and Kyrie with the experience those young guys got in the playoffs makes them a dangerous team, on top of having a great HC. Brad has a way of getting the most out of every player. It was that way at Butler, and he manages to do it in the NBA as well. Not saying they could beat a healthy Warriors team, but they could put a scare in them.
Celtics are definitely the tops in the East and by a wide margin. Toronto may have changed the HC, but they still have their 2 stars who seem to struggle when the lights are the brightest. I dont see how getting rid of the most successful HC they have ever had is going to change that, but I could be wrong.Everyone who exalts themselves will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted- Luke14-11

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Just based on pure speculation of where teams currently are and trying to project the rest of free agency a little, I could see the east playing out like;
1. Boston
2. Toronto
3. Philadelphia
4. Indiana
5. Washington
6. Detroit
7-8. Milwaukee/Chicago/Cleveland/MiamiComment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Unlike the trash can in the East, the West wont allow for that type of behavior and still make the playoffs.
The Lakers dont have overwhelming talent like he had in Miami and Cleveland. Its going to be a dog fight for a playoff spot. I hope he is prepared for that. Especially when he will shoulder the most load that he has carried since 2009.Too Old To Game Club
