Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever. -
Re: The LeBron James Thread
I wanna see LeBron roll with this squad for awhile. Ingram has a lot of potential and everyone on LA including LeBron is super high on him, despite those that think he's trash lol. Saw this random stat yet am still impressed:
The only players in NBA history to total as many points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks as Brandon Ingram through their Age-20 seasons: Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant, LeBron James and Tracy McGrady.
Durant and LeBron are the only two who did it in only two seasons.
If he really blossoms, it'd be tough to give him up for Kawhi. So I'd definitely keep him off-limits in trades with SA and just sign Kawhi outright next year so they can have LeBron, Kawhi, and Ingram (assuming he looks as good as he can). That'd be awesome.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
One thing I'm interested in seeing if LeBron playing on a team that actually has some depth and won't end up being so damn top heavy. They don't have the top level talent that some of the better teams in the West have, so Luke will have to figure out how to collectively get it done, but this is one of the deeper teams he's played on.
I'm assuming the 2nd unit will have Rondo, Hart, Lance, Kuz, Wagner? That's not a bad group.Last edited by Vni; 07-13-2018, 12:24 PM.Comment

I'm actually in agreement with her. Going way back last year when people were saying Ingram, so & so, blah blah for <insert star player>. I never was in agreement with any deals that included BI. I truly think in a few years dudes gonna be a huge star/all star.
The "trash" stuff was always funny to me. I think he/they were basing a lot of that on highlights watched & stats.
Watching (nearly) every game thru local channel night in & night out I saw a guy I didn't want them to trade. I know I'll get lambasted for this but I wouldn't trade BI straight up for Kawhi. Stupid, silly whatever, I wouldn't. If we get him next year awesome, if not I'm ok with that too. I think the core of BI, Kuz, Zo, Hart, and now Bron... Well I'm happy with that. I like our draft picks as well. I really like this roster and I'm insanely excited to watch this season, moreso than in quite a few years past.Comment

Lakers gotta fill that 5 though. I'd be shocked if they roll with McGee as the starter, unless they just plan on playing him 15-20 MPG and rolling with small ball the rest of the game? Ball, KCP, Ingram, Bron, McGee with Rondo, Stephenson, Hart, Kuzma, and maybe Wagner ain't a bad rotation though.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
I've said it before and I'll say it again, Brandon Ingram is too tantalizing to just give away. I've been high on Ingram since day one and that's not to say he's guaranteed to become the best player in the league or anything, but kid has had so many flashes of greatness I feel it's be absurd to just give him up. To me this is akin to I believe it was the summer of 2014 or so when the rumored Kevin Love to Golden State from Minnesota for Klay Thompson and other assets and people were going crazy as if Golden State was stupid and how could you let a guy like Kevin Love pass for Klay Thompson. I'm not saying Brandon Ingram is going to be as good as, or better than Klay but I think fans have a problem with seeing the future potential. If a guy doesn't come out the gates like Michael Jordan, LeBron James, or Shaq, we act as if they are trash and can't get better at basketball. Of course it isn't guaranteed, but at the same time if everyone that didn't perform or live up to the hype from day one was cast aside. So in my humble opinion, it isn't so crazy to want Brandon Ingram for what he could potentially become instead of Kawhi Leonard. I applaud the Lakers for being reluctant to hemorrhage their future for Leonard, and seeing what they have with the guys they have.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Not telling at this point, Pelinka said as of now LeBron is the only guaranteed starter. I was basing my post under the assumption that LeBron will be starting at the 4 and Ingram naturally is a better fit at the 3. Also, while Kuzma could be the better catch and shoot guy, he mixes it up more, posts some himself, so I figured Ingram was a better fit starting with Bron as of now.
I actually envision down the line that Kuzma could be one of those guys that's good for about 20 a game off the bench and be competing for 6th man of the year awards every season. Assuming he's comfortable with that role, I think he could become an All-Star level 6th man like we've saw from guys like Jason Terry, Lamar Odom, Manu, etc. He reminds me a bit of Eddie Johnson, who thrived in that type of role.Comment

Re: The LeBron James Thread
Yeah I'm just not nearly as high on Ingram as some of you are. Still think he can be a really good scorer, but as far as him ever being the type to draw the defensive attention of guys like KD, Kobe, T-Mac... I don't think that's in his future. Even if it was I don't even think he would be an aggressive enough player to tap into it.Comment

Too frail, I would trade him as part of a package for Kawhi everyday of the week and twice on Sunday!
I don't see him blending in well with LABron either.
I think KUZ will fit in with LABron really well and will get way more playing time than BI.ND Season Ticket Holder since '72.Comment

Ingram will be fine.
He’s already down to 40% trash after being at 78% at the beginning of the year according to the “experts” here so by that metric, he’ll be at 8% at the end of next year.
Not going to put a ceiling on him when he’s only 21 and barely into his 3rd year.
