LeBron should go to Cleveland ONLY if the Cavs draft Embiid.

Edit: For the first time in his career, he'd have a true PG and a great Center around him.

You mean a point guard that can't stay healthy and an unproven prospect whose health is also a major concern?

Better than Mario Chalmers and Mo Williams. (He was the starting PG, right?)

          Yeah Mo Williams... this guy.

          (year before CLE): 48% FG, 39% 3PT, 86% FT, 17 PPG, 6 APG, 4 RPG
          (1st year with CLE): 47% FG, 44% 3PT, 91% FT, 18 PPG, 4 APG, 3 RPG

Don't know what they were thinking signing him... and he sure let them down when he got there. People go way overboard with the CLE "supporting cast" talk.

Really about what he wants to do
I don't mean to come off any way, but do you really think that Lebron wouldn't win a ring with Cleveland considering the talent they would have around him? I mean, you have a 2 time all star in place, a 16 ppg scorer in his second year, a couple of solid rotational players (TRistan Thompson, Jarrett Jack, Varejao), and the number one pick in one of the better draft classes in a while. Also nobody really knows how Bennett will turn out yet. Yes he started terribly, but that can be attributed to shoulder surgery, being overweight (he worked off about 20 pounds during the season), and the worst developmental coach in te league. Kinda unfair to write him off.

I'm not saying it's in Lebrons best interest to come back this summer, but I think come next summer the Cavs will be in a better place basketball wise than Miami.

Like I said, get Embiid and somehow convince LeBron to come back. That would be a great starting 3/5!

Not sure how it's related to your previous knock on Mo Williams but I was justposting some facts for context.

The discussion itself, I'll stay out of bc it's safe to say that if you put Lebron on any team you have a good case for them having the pieces for the championship. That's how it goes with the best player in the NBA.

There are way too many maybes for Cleveland to even be a factor. Maybe this guy will turn out to be good, or maybe that guy might be the perfect piece to put alongside Lebron. Lebron needs and most likely wants to be around proven talent with proven ability and Miami, having the great management that they have, will make sure they make the right moves.

                    Re: The LeBron James Thread

Mo Williams would have been fine, except for that he was brought on to be the 2nd best player on the team. And in Mike Brown's brilliant offense he was basically given a Westbrook-like role, with not near enough talent for it to be championship caliber duo.

Though decent shooting percentages he was a very streaky shooter. He was your prototypical 6th man type player. Someone to come in and get shots like how the Clippers use Crawford or Spurs use Mills.. Only problem was he wasn't given that role, he was the starting point guard.

Ideally Cleveland needed a point guard who could make plays, or at least be a lockdown defender.. If not that, a shooting guard that could do either of those things.. They were sorta stuck at that point having to start Mo and West together, which both basically had the same type of game. One of them desperately needed to be a 6th, and both needed to play off ball more.. Which they did a lot because Brown ran 99.99% of everything through LeBron.

But with that being said, Mo played solid for Cleveland. And that supporting cast was much, much better than when they were having to rely on Snow, Murray, Pavlovic, Jones, and Newble playing all the minutes in the back court.

LeBron's supporting cast is pretty bad when you compare to other teams who made the finals, but for that time in the East it really wasn't too bad compared to his competition. Obviously the Celtics and Pistons had much better teams, and Orlando just before LeBron left.. But there was always enough pieces around him for them to have a shot at coming out of the East..

I'd say there's more maybes staying in Miami than Cleveland.

Yup. Get LeBron, draft Joel Embiid, and sign Patty Mills. Sounds good to me if possible.

Lebron's destinations are either Cleavland, Miami or One of the LA Teams.

Apparently him and his Wife "Love" LA

Clippers would have to do a sign and trade with Miami. Probably something involving Blake Griffen. If He chooses the other option and wants to play for the Lakers I could see a combo of Kobe/Lebron/Draft Pick. Working out nicely.
