I would take Lebron before anyone outside of mj Duncan or shaq.... But I won't put him ahead of certain guys based off accomplishments.. In an extended prime Lebron is pretty damn up there

I'd say he's slightly better right now.

Only people that are above LeBron, imo..

          Jordan
          Shaq
          Magic
          Wilt
          Kareem
          Duncan
          Russell

That's not in order, and then LeBron follows, if LeBron gets another MVP and title, I think he jumps above Shaq and maybe Wilt. I'm very biased for Wilt though.

I don't have any current players on my top 10 list, and that won't change until guys like Kobe, Duncan, LeBron have retired..

            1. Jordan
            2. Kareem
            3.Magic
            4. Bird
            5. Russell
            6. Wilt
            7. Big O
            8. West
            9. Hakeem
            10. Shaq

Granted this list is based off of a mixture of talent, accomplishments, and legacy..

But for the question of is LeBron a top 10 player ever, talent&skill wise there is no question.. He is easily top 5 in that aspect with 0 rings or 15 rings..

I'll repeat what I've said in here before, he's the only player, that I know of other than MJ, to completely separate himself over every other player in the league with his level of play.

You can't really compare players across different eras fairly.. In the Jordan/LeBron example they play different positions, have a different play style, played under a different system, and approach the game in a different way.. As far as talent the two most talented athletes I've ever witnessed, I could name off 10 things Jordan does better than LeBron and 10 things LeBron does better than Jordan..

The fact that Magic Johnson said LeBron could become the best ever just shows the caliber player he is.. Magic played with Jordan and basically hand delivered him the torch, not to mention playing with Kareem and Larry as well. Pat Riley called him greater than all the other guys with 4+ MVPs including Jordan and Kareem.. Guys don't just throw things like this out there..

I'm not saying he's the best ever, I'll stick to what I've always said. Michael Jordan was the greatest player I have ever watched, and James is the greatest player I have watched since Jordan retired.

              my top 10.

              1. jordan
              2. kareem
              3. russell
              4. wilt
              5. kobe
              6. magic
              7. shaq
              8. duncan
              9. bird
              -------------------

              - i put kobe over shaq and duncan because he has sustained greatest longer than they did. while i completely understand choosing a quality level big over a small, kobe has sustained excellence for 17+yrs and his game still hasnt fallen off that much. (pre-achillies)

plus kobe is the only player, that i know of in nba history, who was once a #2 on a championship level team, took over a rock bottom team as a #1 and rose that team back to championship glory again.

i put shaq over duncan only for the fact that shaq won three championships with the lakers while coexisting at the same time as a prime duncan with an equally talented team.

              ------------------------------

hakeem 11. lebron might be 12 at this point, but id have to go through it some more b4 i could make that statement.

They couldn't beat the Bulls teams either but that doesn't make Steve Kerr better than LeBron..

Him being a #1 option is debatable on the teams that did win after Shaq left.

But you saying he rose them to championship prominence was the funny part. This is the same Kobe that was packing it in against the Suns and trying to force his way out of town? Lmfao
