well looks like NJ just lost John Wall AND Lebron James within the last 5 mins. No reason for him to go there now.

i dont care if its NJ or NY... as long as its not Chicago, i rooted for the Bulls when Jordan was there but i just dont think Chicago is a place Lebron belongs, it just doesnt feel right. Chicago broke Cleveland's heart with the Jordan shot over Ehlo, now a Ohio guy is gonna go there and break Cleveland's heart once again? I still think he's going to NY, the city fit for a king.

I wouldn't 100% rule it out. If the Nets wind up with Cousins, it could be a blessing in disguise. If that kid looks like he's going to be a beast, Lebron will be looking at the frontcourt of the near future, and they'd have the size and athleticism to compete with the big teams in the short term, and Dwight in the long term. Also, this means they don't have to give up Harris. I know the popular thinking is that they could have gotten decent value for him, but people dealing with them would know that they HAVE to move him or face a QB controversy which would stunt the growth of what could be the next big thing at PG.

Now they keep Harris, who is a 20+ scorer when healthy, and they could be trotting out a lineup of:

          Harris
          Lee/Williams
          Lebron
          Cousins
          Lopez.

In a year or two, Lebron could be looking at some serious long term rock solid talent, in addition to possibly/probably being in NYC once the move happens. This is the only place where he could have his cake and eat it too, in a certain sense.

That's a great point. I don't think it goes through Lebron's head, but it would be some act of scumbaggery to quit on the Cavs and then go to follow in the footsteps on the guy who broke their hearts over and over.

As I said all along on here, I've never seen the hype on Wall and didn't really see anything he could do better than Devin so I'm glad he'll be around for this rebuild. I've also said that Lebron isn't coming here(made cases as for WHY he could come here for the people who've said he can't come here)but I've always been of the belief that he wouldn't come here.

I guess the real question is either Cousins, Monroe or Favors worth passing up on Boozer, Stoudamire, or Lee?

I would say Cousins and Favors are worth passing on those guys because those guys are going to want a lot of money. Lee for sure isn't worth it, that guy is overrated and is going to want too much money because his numbers are inflated because of D'Antoni's system. Boozer is good but injury issues and age are also a factor.

So i think you take Cousins or Favors because they are younger and you wont have to pay as much. Then if you can't get Lebron, which is still possible but i think the chances just got smaller, then they can maybe sign a Joe Johnson so you got Harris, Johnson, Williams, Cousins/Favors, Lopez. And thats a young 5 with a bright future.

You're trying hard to convince yourself that he's not coming to Chi-town.

Just asking......why would he care about what MJ did to Cleveland when he's been a Bulls fan his whole life??

he hasnt really been a Bulls fan, he's been a Jordan fan. I was the same exact way growing up. I liked the Nets when i was real young, Petrovic was my favorite player and then he died. I was also a fan of Jordan at that point so i rooted for the Bulls until he retired then i lost rooting interest for any particular team until he came back and then it was the Bulls again.

Lebron doesnt wanna be like Mike, he wants to create his own legacy not follow the footsteps of someone else.

I don't give a **** whether or not he goes to Chicago, man. I'm not talking about what HE cares about, as I specified that HE would not think about it. Just talking about all those Cavs fans who had those rotten memories of the Cavs/Bulls from years past would now have a whole career's worth of more rotten memories whenever they see a Bulls uniform.

I could see Chicago happening. Sign Lebron straight up and move Deng and some other pieces for someone else and you have a nearly complete team.

I don't know what gave you the impression that I care whether or not he goes to Chicago. I have no investment in Chicago one way or another, as long as I don't have to live there and sift through all of the dumpy women to find the few that are almost as fine as what's in NY or LA

Otherwise, best of luck to you and yours.

Also, go Bears. Gotta pull for my boy Lance.

I think that's part of a bigger "Jordan factor" that would hold LeBron back. I'm not sure exactly what LeBron's feelings on MJ are, but he's changing his number because (according to him) he doesn't think anybody should wear that number and it should be retired league wide. So it makes me wonder if he'd stay away from Chicago because of how everything he does will be compared to Jordan.

Also, at the Toney Douglas doubters, why can't he play a similar role as Derek Fisher? Everyone's so used to thinking a PG needs to dominate the basketball to be a factor, but Fisher has been a perfect compliment for Kobe throughout their careers. I don't see why TD can't be the same.

I didn't put much stock into the Jordan thing until thinking this: If Lebron goes to Chicago and wins less than SIX rings, he will be deemed an inferior player almost no matter what. I don't think he wants to be in a situation where he has little to no chance of even being in the discussion, but he will not be in the discussino without at least five rings.

On the flipside, if he goes to a bad team like NY or Jersey and gets even a back to back championship, it'll be looked on rather favorably. Lebron thinks alot about that stuff, too. He has changed aspects of his approach, and little decisions here or there to get the same attention he's felt that other people have gotten.

Like I said before, MJ legacy is untouchable. LeBron knows this. The whole league knows this.

That is a bold faced lie. People shouldn't even lie like that. Women eat too much in Chicago, they don't walk enough, and they don't have as diverse of a gene pool as coastal cities, nor do they have the college imports to balance out the aforementioned factors. Even a bunch of dudes from Chicago backed me up on this right here on these message boards.
