Ummmmmmm I think ESPN has always had a reporter or 2 in every major sports city year round.

How is that going to work? Bosh and Wade or LeBron is going to need to take a massive pay cut.
Couldn't they sign Wade, LeBron, and Miller, and then do a sign-and-trade with Toronto to get Bosh?

I don't know if they are officially ESPN reporters, but yeah they have local guys everywhere.

How are they offering Miller a $30 million deal if they are confident Bron is coming? The three of them would have to take $2 million each off their salaries to even come close to swinging that.

I guess so...but if Miami goes over the cap, Toronto would need to get equal or close to equal money back.

So if Rachel Nichols is in NY, who's taking her spot in Hattiesburg, MS doing Favre Watch?

I don't think ESPN keeps reporters at AA Arena, United Center, MSG, and the Q year round....just sayin.

Yes they at least have someone at or very close to a major city all year round so that's nothing new.

Anyways I want to say something that's been on my mind all day today and it may be irrational to some but damnit i'm a bit pissed off. If the Miami rumor is true then I think Lebron, Bosh and to a lesser extent Wade have screwed the pooch for everyone else. What they've done is tantamount to collusion except it's on the player's side. If i'm an owner or in management I see this and i'm extremely ticked off. It's one thing to do this quietly and you can kinda tell they planned it but to be so blatant about it is a slap in the face to the credibility and the process of the league and free agency. The stories of Bosh running around with a camera crew to visit teams for negotiations reek of "look at me look at me!" that it makes me sick to my stomach. Lebron is looking like a guy who is damning everything in order to get a ring when he's still young enough that he can lead a team to a championship with help right where he is. I mean it's not like the ownership in Cleveland isn't willing to win at all costs. Wade by comparison is looking like a saint by keeping his mouth shut for the most part.

The worst part of all this is that free agency in every sport has some give and take in that it's not ALL in the player's favor as management can honestly make pitches and have an honest shot at getting a superstar. Not so in this case where we've gotten "summits" and these guys totally calling the shots as if they own the world.

In short, this kind of crap would push me to want to install an NFL style salary cap with as few loopholes as possible not just for the parity reasons I like to trot out but also to bring some fairness to a process that has become almost unbearable in that respect in the NBA. I can guarantee there will be a significant work stoppage when the CBA is up and while they won't say it, the shenanigans of the "Big Three" may play a big role in the resolve of ownership to carry through with their threats.

Pretty sure he meant Josh Howard bruh... As in Josh Howard and Shaq taking the vet min to go to Miami and pad depth on a Miami team w/ Lebron, Wade, and Bosh.

Josh Howard who blew his knee out in March and won't be expected to be anywhere near full strength and won't be able to make a significant impact until possibly towards the end of next season? Ugh no thanks.

Lol @ those who suddenly want LeBron to choose Cleveland due to "loyalty". The same people that'll throw him in the flames once he gets bounced from the playoffs yet again.

Cleveland fans are selfish. I love having CP3 on my team ,but if ownership refuse/fail to give him a championship type team and he leaves I will wish him all the best(unless he joins the Lakers).

100% Agreed. The players better cut the "salaries" of their posses now or else they're going to be broke by January 2012.
