They'll certainly sell out for the first few weeks of the season, until the people realize that the team isn't very good and all the hatred towards Lebron won't transform that team into a winner.

Dan Gilbert is a moron. I was actually pulling for Cleveland to overachieve without LBJ next season, but that letter is really weak.

I would have called him that at least. I believe in a little bit of loyalty and he showed none.

And LOL at Gilbert being nothing without LBJ. Gilbert is the founder of Quicken Loans.

Dude, why did the New Orleans Saints win a Super Bowl this past season? Parity.

The current CBA was created to stop owners trying to build "super teams." Obviously, it hasn't worked and will have a horrible effect on the Eastern conference. There were only 4 relevant/good teams in that entire conference last season and that number still won't improve.

                  I agree.

But...if by some fluke the Cavaliers come out hot, or they overachieve this year, Dan Gilbert will be hailed as a God in Cleveland.

I don't agree necessarily...but, I must admit that Gilbert has me just as excited to watch the Cavaliers w/o LeBron.

Yeah. Melo isn't exactly a lock to come and Amar'e isn't a world-beater or superstar. Melo is a beast, but my main point was that he could've gone somewhere that had been lacking championships in recent years, was in need of someone to come pick the franchise back up, and be THE guy. For his legacy. Unless he doesn't care about that.

I just feel like he would've come out of this looking better if he at least made it appear that he still wanted to take on the challenge of leading a team.

They have a guy in D-Wade who is THE guy, who's already won something, and who will be running this team. It's not a good look.

The NFL has the illusion of parity but the same few teams are usually winning every year.

The NBA has had these "super teams" for awhile and what's interesting to me is that people criticizing Lebron for going to the Heat want to bring up players who won with the same collection of all-stars that the Heat have. The 80's Lakers had multiple hall of famers, the Bulls had hall of famers, and the new Lakers have hall of famers in their starting lineups but somehow it is only a problem that Lebron decided to play for a team with another great player.

If you were pulling for the Cavaliers because they were an underdog, this letter is going to piss you off. Or if you felt sorry for the Cavaliers or whatever.

If you are a Cavaliers fan, this is the Declaration of Independence for the team.

BTW, despite Gilbert's tone...I think he's dead on LeBron. If anyone would know what LeBron is like, Gilbert would.
