I don't think he's talking about in here. I think he's talking about Miami.

Golic was saying this morning that Miami isn't a sports town. He played on a Dolphins team that was 9-2 and they couldn't fill the stadium.

Also, with Wade and Shaq, the arena wasn't full all the time.

Plus, no need to rub salt in the wound of Cavs fans. Let them have their moment.

Lol @ this thread. The man gave seven good seasons to that city. Took them to the finals, back to back 60 win seasons, and won two MVP's there and people in Cleveland are mad that he left? If I had the decison of playing with Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and playing in South Beach vs. Playing with the likes of Mo Williams, and playing in a city like Cleveland? No contest. Should be interesting how this duo work out.

Having two go to guys is a problem? That's a silly thing to say.

We have two options now, it's just a matter of deciding who has a better look.

Yes and no. He's already dogged LeBron's mother, gone the Kobe route and is acting pretty "holier than thou" if you ask me. If he were a poster at OS he would have been red carded no less than twice already.

Everyone is disappointed. Everyone didn't want him to go to NYC, saying winning should be his main priority...and he made this decision based on winning. I am not angry at his decision, and the only people that should be are Cle fans IMO.

I am disappointed in how he did this, and disappointed that we may have another Super team. It's never good for the NBA I feel when there is like 3-4 teams that can win it and all the other teams are just going through the motions.

But other than that meh. His legacy is definitely hurt by this, unless the Heat go on to win bout 5+ championships and then I think no one will really care that he 'piggybacked' onto Wade.

For the Cleveland fans, it sucks but realize you still have your team. Maybe you'll completely suck and draft a player that can help the team move on from this. That's the best thing about American sports, the leagues are built so that teams can't stay down for too long.

I'm talking about Miami as well. No one can predict what their attendances will be, so I'm not talking about that, but you can't say no one cares, that's rubbish. I think I can confidently say attendances will be higher than last season though.

Really, I think all Lebron cares about is winning rings, and even if attendances and general interest were down I see that as working in his favor as that would mean there would be less pressure than he had in Cleveland.

How am I rubbing salt in the wounds of Cavs fans?

He definitely made sense about how the whole "dog and pony show" went down. That all three knew from the get go that they would play together in 2010. That much I agree with.

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

I don't think there is a problem with three superstars playing together. I don't even think that this makes them automaticly the ultimate favourite for the title. It's still a team sport and even Lebron, Wado nor Bosh can play 48 min every day through 100+ games a season. They still need support from the point, a center and the bench. They won't win a title with three players, even of that caliber.

However what I don't understand, and you guys are welcome to dissagree with me, cause maybe I will understand then.
I felt like LeBron James was some kind of Michael Jordan caliber, not just with equal skills, but also with an equal mindset. And in my opinion, guys like Jordan (or i.e. Magic or Bird), had not just the goal to win Championships, but even more to become legendary as an individual, as somebody who single-handedly controlled and ruled the World of Basketball. However to become somebody like that, there is no other way but being THE only leader on YOUR team. You need suppport, no doubt about that, everyone of the Greats had that. But Wade and Bosh are more than just support. They are guys who demand the same kind of attention as James does. Do they deserve it? Well Wade does, there is no doubt in my mind. Bosh? Well at least he demands it. But I can't imagine that there is enough space in one team for three guys, who have the ultimate goal to become legendary. Maybe as "The Big Three", but not as an individual.

So my question is. Did LeBron give up his status as a "King" and his ultimate goal to become a MJ-like legend by signing in "The New Big Three"?

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

I am of the mind that Lebron new all along, at least since the Olympics, that no matter what happened, he was not going to stay in cleveland.

So, let's take a look at all of the stuf he did to a team, that I believe (it should be obvious) that he knew he wasn't going to continue playing for).

                              1. Had them go over the cap every year to sign players to keep him happy. Lol at him lobying to get Varejeo that ridiculous contract. I am sure that the entire time he was there, Ferry didn't sign a player that Lebron didn't co-sign. Probably went like this:
Ferry: Okay Lebron, I can get player A, B, C, D, and E. Which one do you want?
Lebron: Let's go with player C. (Looks in mirror and see's hairline has moved half an inch back. Pulls headband down tighter.)

                              2. Got Mike Brown fired, when he knew he wouldn't be back. This is unforgiviable, and if I was Mike Brown, I'd beat what was left of Lebrons hairline into oblivion. How are you going to set back and get a dude fired, and make no mistake that a conversation was had with management and Lebron about Mike Brown, and then bolt. You put someone out of a job, and then bolt? You treat a man who had to take the blame for all of your shortcomings like that (Cleveland didn't run a structered offense because Lebron isn't exactly an X's and O's type of guy (ie, he's dumb).

                              3. Got Danny Ferry fired. This one is pretty funny. Lebron had Danny make all the moves that he co-signed, then when they didn't work out Danny was the fall guy. Brilliant. Just like Mike Brown, I am sure there was a convo between Lebron and management:
Gilbert : You happy with the moves Danny made to enhance the team?
Lebron : (Thinks about how Danny told him that if he gave up hickson they could have gotten Amare instead of Jamison) Not really. Danny could have gotten Amare if he had giving Phoenix Hickson, and I told him to do that, but he thought it was to much. (Looks in mirror and see's hairline has moved another half inch back. Puts on another headband).

Anyman who would put a team over the cap, get the coach fired, get the gm fired, knowing that he would leave, is a man so dasterdly I have to root for him.

I liked his "Sploelstra is still the head coach...for now" line. I bit Stan Van Gundy is on the phone right now telling him exactly how it's going to go down.
Lou Holtz on College Gameday about Ohio State:

"The buckeyes play Akron, they play Kent State, I mean, they may win the MAC this year."

That is silly analysis and it doesnt answer the question. Just go with the guy who has the better look? LOL. Who knew it was that easy?

Most last minute plays are isolation sets. I'm a Laker fan and I know at the end of the game that play is run for Kobe. Celtics fans know its Pierce. Nuggets fans know its Melo. Its clear who the play runs through. Thats not the case here with the Heat and that can cause issues. Shoot, I havent even started talking about the potential ego issues with deciding who takes the last shot.

Folks, this has never happened before in the history of the league. Any other time you had 3 superstars on one team, 1 or 2 of them were either ring chasing or past their prime. That allowed them to have a clear hierarchy and is a reason why some of them worked. Here you have 3 guys in their prime and 2 are considered top 5 players. I just dont see any of them deferring to the other when times get tough.
