I'm sure David Stern is thrilled that the NBA is relevant in mid-July and this has increased interest a ton for the upcoming season.
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Relevant with largely negative press. I think people who believe that the Heat will bring back casual or former NBA fans are crazy.

I dont think that was the purpose at all though, but if you dont think he can captialize on this you havent been watching him.

The Heat will have a bunch of games on national tv this coming year

You don't win 60 games, be an elite defensive and rebounding TEAM, because of one player.

Lebron strikes me as the Arod of the NBA. He is a diva, and has a childish mentality to him. You know guys like Durant and Kobe are already in the gym, tuning their game or watching hours of video, while Lebron is at the clubs in South Beach celebrating their "future" championships. He loved to dance around and showboat on the sidelines when things were going good in Cleveland, but when they would lose he stormed off like a baby and didn't congratulate anybody and blamed his teamates or coach. ACCOUNTABILITY for your success and failures shows a lot about your character.

Seems like Lebron wants to be a part of something, and not be that something.

Maybe he's better suited as the Robin instead of Batman. Maybe his lack of killer instinct is better suited playing alongside Wade. Nothing wrong with that, but he made his choice and he won't be on the same level as MJ or even Kobe regardless what he does from now on in Miami. If Miami does win, in all honesty it will feel sort of a gimmick. Just the way I feel.
            Exactly!
Jordan is like Kobe, if a players isnt giving his all, there gonna let them know. A leader doesnt just score, or asist, or get great stats. A leader raises his teamates, and lights a fire. Lebron lit his own fire, but usually was the first to seam to give up in the tough games.

And Jordan after many years of no championship, stayed and signed a 8yr contract. Thats a leader. Dont bail in the hard times....THATS OLD SCHOOL MENTALITY RIGHT THERE.

You kids today want everything handed to you. Go out, and fight the odds. Dont give up. Im not sure whats wrong with the younger generation, but they have lost a lot of useful knowledge passed down over years. Maybe its just because we are a spoiled genration these days. I dont know.

I don't think Stern really cares how many pages are in this thread.

I wonder if we'll see LeBron at the pg a fair bit with this team?

              something like

              pg: LeBron
              sg: Wade
              sf: Miller
              pf: Bosh
c: Pittman / fa signing / the big Puerto Rican guy who sells popcorn

Re: LeBron James Signs With Miami Heat

It's negative in the sense that just about everyone wants to see the Miami Heat get their butts kicked but I don't think many people say that they're not interested in the NBA or the upcoming season because of this. I might be wrong on that but every reaction I've seen has largely been "I wanna see them fail/lose" or "I hope x team beats them" not "I'm never watching this crap again"
As Shaquille O'Neal left the Suns practice court, he yelled out, "Alvin's the coach. We must be the Clippers. And I must be Olowokandi. Nooooo!"

Ok so now that's just getting ridiculous. So because LeBron left your team the whole generation is hopeless? Way to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Ummm...this is the new trend in pro sports, where have you been? The game is not the same. Hasnt been for years now.

Maybe if young adults would take a step back, and listen to those older and wiser, they might just see whats missing these days.

What do you mean its JUST getting ridiculous?

Cant believe young people today....grow up in a underpriveleged household, rather than doing something against the law, hone your basketball skills, get noticed and drafted by an NBA team, play for that team for 7 years until your contract is up, then choose to play somewhere else....

With kids like this around, 2012 cant come soon enough...

Did I say me, or those older and wiser? Look carefully. Take your time, you will find the answer.

Your proving my point nicely though.
