That pretty much sums it up.

I will never root for him, because I believe he is one of the great all-time frauds in sports..but as an athlete, his gifts are pretty self evident.

He has the potential to be an icon and a role model, and instead he just comes off as a little kid trapped in a man's body.

See, I never viewed him as that guy.

He has never struck me as a dynamic, charismatic, personality.

Jordan, Magic, Shaq..those guys have that "It". You either have it, or you dont. Hell, Allen Iverson has more of that "It" then him.

I view Lebron as nothing more then a product of his generation.

He's no different then these 24 yr olds who I see strutting into a job interview and feeling like they deserve the corner office.

What did Jordan have? He was a douche bag and had no charisma. He never stood for anything outside of selling shoes. He cheated on his wife, treated people like crap, and gamble a ton(not that I have a problem with gambling he had it).

Why is it Jordan gets this huge pass when you can make a strong case that he is waaaaay worst then LeBron as a person?

I disagree with both of you. Jordan was a very charismatic individual. The Space Jam movie, Hanes commericials, and things like that, you saw a genuine smile from the guy and like Westbrook, yeah he could be a douchebag, but at least he's real. And I'm sorry but when you're a guy that was idolized as much as Jordan is, you have charisma.

I thought LeBron had the same potential. He's certainly a polarizing figure, and sometimes when he talks, you can tell that he has potential as a charismatic person, but he just blows it way too often and seems more like he's constantly acting rather than being a real emotional person.

You don't need charisma to be idolized. You need a team of people to put you in the right place. Jordan wasn't "real" he avoided any topic that put his brand in jeopardy. You can say money wise that's smart, but it's far from "real".

I'm not talking about the things he said. I'm talking about his facial expressions. The way he carried himself. He always came off as a genuinely happy or genuinely upset person, whereas nobody really knows with LeBron.

If anything IMO Jordan came off as a bad person while LeBron comes off as an immature person. Neither title is great, but a rather immature(not knowing any better) than knowing better and just not caring.

This is a good point too. If they had TMZ or whatever that site is that reports all the shady stuff famous actors and actresses and athletes do, obviously Jordan wouldn't have been regarded as role model that he was, but he was still a very charismatic person in the way that he carried himself and the way he behaved in the public's eye.

Well, don't look to me to wish James well on his quest to win a ring.

He couldn't win in C-Town, so instead of trying to lure key free agents there and continuing to try, he quit and went to Miami to play with his boys. Took his ball and went home.

"When the going gets tough, quit", right LeBron?

Wouldn't it be "Take his ball and leave home"?

Anyways if he was unable to "lure" any FA's then what? Continue to fail. He would be receiving criticism either way. I rather have the bad press with the rings than without.

It's completely unfair to judge LeBron for quiting when things got tough because every other NBA great with titles got the help they needed one way or the other.

Well what the heck would you think of Charles Barkley or Dennis Rodman because they did this stuff in your face and still does today and nobody is saying these things about them

Come on man, those guys day the game was about the game of basketball, not about some freaking WWE personality. You guys are right where David Stern has led you...right into the entertainment part of this and not about the game itself.

Actually MJ probably would have been regarded pretty badly. No doubt in my mind.

Chuck and Rodman? Even worse in today's NBA.

As far as WWE, well LeBron and crew know all about WWE. That has nothing to do with Stern by the way.
