and that post about loyalty is crap

Sports is a what have you done for me lately business now

Owners trade players and treat them like plain old assets all the time
and anytime they want to... there is no loyalty

      Re: The LeBron James Thread

I find it hard to believe that someone can single-handily carry a team that consists of Larry ****ing Hughes and Daniel Gibson to the Finals, but can't get a team with Antawn Jamison and Mo Williams past the second round.

Those guys aren't world beaters by any means, but I'd bet my house that Antawn Jamison is a better piece to the puzzle than Larry Hughes. Did we give LeBron enough help to actually win a championship? History says no, but I think we could have beaten Boston last year with the team we had, and I'd venture to say that we could have beaten Orlando too.

      tl;dr version:

I don't think we got LeBron the best help ever, but the squad we had last year was good enough (imo) to at least get us to the Finals had the whole fiasco with LeBron not happened. Were the players on that team last year world beaters? **** no. But were they better than the team we had in 2007? Hell yes.

The opposition teams in the East improved a hell of a lot between 2007 and last season man. The Celtics, Bulls and Magic all loaded up. The Pierce KG Ray Celtics would have crushed that Cavs team in 2007 if they'd played them. Things changed and the Cavs dropped down the pecking order rapidly. Jamison was destroyed by KG and Mo Williams has never been a "pressure" situation guy. They were a poor team.

If the rumours LeBron didn't want Amare though are true and preffered Jamison...then he only had himself to blame. Either way, the Cavs weren't winning with that roster against the east the way it is today.

In all honesty guys, after watching some replays of the finals especially game 5 and 6 , all I can say is .......WOW I dOnt think I have ever seen a better spectacle of three point shooting by any other team. I'm a huge Lebron fan, but my hat goes off to how well those guys( mavericks) shot lights out and did it at key points in the game. It wasn't just Dirk, it was 4 other guys hitting big shots when they needed them. That is why it is a team game . It's not what Lebron didn't do , it's what Dallas did that won the finals.
As far as comparing Terry to Mo . They are the same , the problem is I cant ever remember a playoff game in Lebron's last year in Cleveland where Mo, Gibson , Parker and West had it all going on like those guys did in a complete game or series for that matter.

Yeah man, in a league where players like Gerald Wallace and Kendrick Perkins who absolutely loved their team, get traded at the drop of a hat.......it hard to embrace the idea of loyalty...

Especially G Force man, he had so much stuff going on here in the QC

Next time Wallace is in a position to take a pay cut to help his team or something to that effect, I know what will be going through his head...

Man, that Kendrick Perkins trade messed up the whole mentally outlook of the celtics. Watching those interviews of how the players reactions you could see they were shocked.

I am still having a hard time with Wallace leaving. I thought that he was untouchable. When I went to the two home games during the playoffs last year, you could see that Wallace was the player that was promoted. From the banner, posters, jerseys, everything. He even was a Jordan Brand guy.

If anyone was going to be traded in my mind, it was Jackson. I will always be a Wallace fan, he is the type that you want in your foxhole. Never took a possession off. I hope that he will be the 1st jersey that is retired for the franchise.

Simply put, I think LeBron James is just not mentally prepared enough to be the guy with the pressure to win it all. He does great when he is the underdog, when his team is not expected to win a title ala 2007. But when his team is the favorite to get to the Finals (2010,2011), he starts choking.

I think James, the ultimate front runner, is better when he is the under dog...hello irony!

Yea he offically change my mind about his this playoffs. I mean in the first 2 rounds I was pretty much in shocked the way he was playing. And I thought he was going to breakout of the "same old story". I mean what he did in Boston in Game 4 & 5 well completely shocking. And then he had a even better chance to choke vs the Bull in the same exact games. And he was clutch as I've ever seen him.

This flop right here shows alot IMO. It shows someone willing to cheat, willing to shortcut. For me, this is not a champion. This is not part of the game to me. Win because you deserve it, this one makes me shake my head

There needs to be a severe penalty for this IMO. Its cheating, no other way to look at it.

It's just another part of the game. Let it go aready. I will that is a smart play though. Haywood was having trouble moving his feet. And was forced to make contact with LeBron's body. And he just sold the call to the ref. Can't complain one bit.

                          You cannot be serious...

Did he even make contact with Haywood?

It's just as bad as his flop in Chicago.

Until the NBA decides to go back to the tape, give out technicals/fines for such obvious flopping, it will never change.

Yea I'm totally seriously. We all play street ball here. That is why that wouldn't get called in one of our games. But in the pros.. when everything counts. That is a actor job by LeBron. Like I said everyone does it. Young players don't do when they get into the league at first like Derrick Rose. But as they get older. And learn the tricks of the trade. You will start to see them doing it a lot more. I remember Billups didn't do when he first got in the league. Now he does so often. As a defender you just have to know.

I didn't like the move Durant does to get to the free throw. I thought he was just talented as a player to be doing a move so much that he can average 10 points a game on that rip through shooting motion. Your selling a call to the ref. As a defender you just have to know.

edit: I wish someone could make a mix of the most stupid calls in the NBA. Now that would be funny.
