    Re: The LeBron James Thread

This thread has gotten so long and is all over the place so I apologize if this has already been posted. With Lebron I see an immensely talented athlete/player who is afraid of failure. I don't think he wants to take the last shot, take charge, etc when the issue is in doubt because then he MIGHT fail. If he "gives up" or avoids the ball than he can't fail because he wasn't trying.

Lebron needs to go back, watch this, and realize what is keeping him from reaching his full potential - fear of failure:

I don't really understand how everybody can say LeBron is afraid of "XYZ" when he's done it before. He did it in both series before the Finals. LeBron panties got all bunched up and quit to prove a point.

What point is he proving? Why would he get his panties in a bunch when winning the Finals is why he came to Miami?

Yeah, I know you've been going with this argument through the finals but it's pretty weak. The only point he could try to prove is winning the freaking championship.

This ^ pretty much. That would have been the only way for Lebron to prove -anything-.

Sidenote - what argument has he been trying to make? Dont want to dig through 1000000000000 pages of Lebron to find a singular post.

Game 1 LeBron shows up they win. Game 2 he plays hard just has a average game really D.Wade just went crazy. Still down the stretch it was him taking bad shots that allowed Dallas to get back into the game. Game3 he has another bad game and everybody is calling him out even D. Wade. Game 4 he just completely shut it down.

Like I have said he has a bad game that's one thing, but completely shutting it down like he did shows me he quit. Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but in my mind there is no doubt he was trying to prove to everybody that they couldn't do it without him. and Dallas was too good to give them hope and that's why they lost.

How can people call him out for the "Decision", dancing during a game, say he's classless and/or egotistical. Then say it's completely beyond comprehension that he would have a Kobe moment in the Finals.

*Not that I'm saying you said that about LeBron jeebs just in general*

Lets just say for one second this is true... that would make him the biggest bitch to every lace up a sneaker or cleat. With all the LBJ hate flying around, I don't even think his biggest haters would believe he'd have a thought process like that. It makes absolutely no sense. This isn't a regular season game. He clearly had some internal battles and couldn't get out of his own head... some may call that quitting, or say that resulted in quitting. But there's no way he consciously stopped playing hard enough to help his team to prove they couldn't do it without him.

The personal issue "thing" is an option. At the same time knowing these guys egos I wouldn't put it pass him to have a moment to show how important and great he is, honestly I really think that's what it was.

I'm not saying da throne is right, but I don't understand how some of you can point at that idea, laugh at it, and toss it to the side. Look at people around you, people who you work w/.....people have their own thoughts, angles, and motives. I've heard crazier things than that theory.

I wouldn't put it past him, although I don't think that's the case only b/c I think LBJ wants to be loved and a 'ship would help that. And, I honestly don't think LBJ thinks he has to prove anything. If he had that mentality he would have stayed in Cleveland and proved he could win a 'ship there.

I agree...probably more of a feeling of helplessness than giving up. It was obvious his confidence was shot...he wanted nothing to do with the ball in his hands. Forget just shooting, he wasn't even trying to create anything for his teamates...all of his passes seemed to be back up top to reset the offense.

What was weird was that he started out on fire (4-4) in game 6 and then missed a three (I think it was a three) and then just kind of backed off shooting as if that one miss just devistated him. On the other side, Dirk started off ice cold and just kept shooting until he finally got himself in a groove in the 4th...it was as if Dirk said g-damnit, I am going to shoot and shoot and shoot until something starts falling after 5 or 6 straight misses and LJ said, "I just don't got it" after one or two misses.
