Knicks fans waited for the LeBron saga to come to an end, they can wait another year since there is real light at the end of this tunnel.
Trading for CP3 will be nearly impossible next year.

He makes $16.4 million in 2011-2012. Assuming the Knicks trade Felton, Gallo, AR, and another player and that assumes that NO likes those players and doesn't want to dump any salary back.

It would also leave the Knicks with no depth and a far inferior three man team to the Heat, especially if the Heat can use the MLE next year. It'd basically leave them with a top heavy but depthless version of the 2005 Suns but in an era with good teams.

Landing with the Knicks may be Carmelo Anthony's first choice but the Nuggets view trading with New York as their least-preferred outcome.

According to ESPN, the Nuggets believe the Knicks may have gone through back channels to recruit Anthony over the summer and are determined to avoid sending him to New York unless they have no other choice.

Seems like the Knicks won't be getting Melo no matter how hard they try and make a trade for him.

There could be a way for CP3 to go to NY should other teams get involved. But we'll have to see how NO's does this year and if Paul seems happy.

            Re: The Carmelo Anthony Saga

As a pround Knicks fan, I am kinda shocked (not a expert) that the bulls have som much faith in Noah, you start to believe that he is one of the most important players on that team. That could very well be the case. And I do not watch enough Bulls Basketball to say thats a bad decision. But from what I have seen from him (limited) I think Carmelo would make that team more dynamic. With Carmelo and Rose and Boozer, that is kinda scary right there, because Rose still has a lot to prove and Carmelo would play that much better with better teammates. The Nuggets roster is a disaster. Nene is not Elite, K Martin underachieves in many aspects, Jr Smith does not play as well as he could. Chris Anderson is good but as I have watched them over the years, it seems to me they underachieve and just don't get it.

Carmelo would fit in well in Chicago if those guys there are deadicated to winning and truly showed it. I see a lot of wasted talent in this league because they are just not playing smart or hard enough (just my take, im a casual fan)

It's funny but flattering how fast some people are to Bash the Knicks. I mean the way some of the guys on these boards talk you would think they have won championships, and theres some hate for that. I get the past gm's the stupid trades, the dumb owner, it's a circus. LOL the biggest one in the NBA. But come on, You guys do realize ( the ones that bash the Knicks everytime they can) How SWEET it will be when we hold that trophy up. I mean I'm a huge College guy, I'm from a really good college city that has won national championships most recently in Basketball, But I would rather see the Knicks win it all. I think that would be allmost more sweeter then my hometown team.

Lol just venting, looks like theres not a lot of Knicks fans on here, oo well, not looking for a argument. I hope the Knicks get Carmelo, but who Knows, I was really upset that Lebron didnt wanna be the man and resurrect the Knicks, So whatever. We still got amare and its gonna be SWEET knowing he can dunk on anybody in the NBA and we still got some up and coming players that can be stars in this league possibly.

i think what denver is doing is stupied. There doing all this to show the fan base there trying or whatever. But the longer they wait the worse things are going to be. Have seen the pics from media day, you can tell he didnt want to be there. And from all reports he was the last one there.
Right know they have talent , cap relief and picks on the table. With really no drama effecting the team. In a mth they will have some drama and 2 mth if there not winning it will go down hill quick. The offers will also be getting worse.
I wish i could be there for the meeting melo would there GM. Melo nice to see you, yea sure listen i am gone at the end of the season. Talk to you later.
Or hey melo we are working to make this team better, that great GM but my wife and kid are on the east cost. Once again I am gone.
This new GM will be there old GM if he waits to long. And if the team get bad they will tank it with the players on the team. They will do what the wizards did , clean house.
Billups deal is done this season and i think also kmart and jr smith. So 4 of there key players can be gone at mid season, denver fans.

One of the Denver beat writers was on 1050 yesterday and said Denver has no interest in Noah as part of a package and I don't blame them. I like him and he has an important role on a contender but what are you going to do with him if your goal is blowing things up and starting over? He's not what you're looking for if that's your goal.

Why wouldn't Philly want to ship Igoudala, maybe Louis Williams, and some picks for Melo? I guess since Melo has stated no interest in Philly, and will not sign an extension?

I think the Philly could put together a good package of players for Melo...at least better than what I'm seeing from the Knicks, Nets, and Jazz/others.

Probably because that package is hot garbage. Philly doesn't have enough to get Melo without giving up Turner.

i think turner was part of the deal not A.I., but melo doesnt want to sign ext there.

Ya I hear what your saying. He is coming up in his contract year pretty soon, but you don't hear the media talking about that, or at least I don't. I heard reports Denver would not do it unless Noah was involved (hearsay). Who knows what to believe? But I agree with that logic more because Noah might have other plans and has not agreed to sign anything.

The way the media is misleading people is by writing that Noah was holding the deal up, or at least thats what I came to believe.

Yes, Melo will not go to Philly, but even if he did, AI and Lou Williams is not even close to being enough. Just sayin...I don't think that Philly has the assets.

What Gallo, Anthony Randolph, and some more NY scrubs is a better deal?

Philly could move Igoudala or Turner + Thad Young, Williams, and 1st. Or... add Speights to the deal...

Seems like a nice package to me.

Neither of those packages are very good, IMO.

Gallo is better than any of the players coming from Philly, though. Although the 1st rounder has potential.

Gallo is NOT better than Andre Igoudala. That's just insane. The only thing Gallo has going for him by comparison w/ Igoudala is that he is 22 and 4 yrs younger than Igoudala. Igoudala can defend the 1, 2, and 3 and is not limited to just being a wing as he can run the point-F.
