    The worst pick up players.

This first crazy light was really the first shoe I ever bought where the materials were basically nothing. Initially I loved the shoe and how light and comfortable it felt but that toe part was so flimsy any time my foot got stepped on or anything I would come home with bloody toes. Still loved the feel of them, felt perfect for my foot shape or something.

These Converse Icons were also some of my favorites just on how they felt. I somewhat liked the bland design as well. Like the old weapons mixed with a Nike shox or something. They didn’t last very long at all though. Started falling apart on my just over the course of a summer. For whatever reason the insoles were horrible quality. The only time I’ve had ball shoes get holes all the way through them.

I liked these just because how hard it was to find a pair in my size. Jumpman Swift 6, was Eddie Jones 2nd or 3rd signature shoe. Kinda heavy but not in a bad way, felt durable.

Speaking of heavy these were also super heavy but insanely comfortable. I loved these shoes but ended up busting the air pocket in the left shoe.. otherwise I would definitely still be wearing these from time to time. LeBron 10 Heat Home color-way.

Got these a few years back when they released. My favorite Jordan’s I’ve bought in a long long time. As far as playing in. Something about the light weight materials with a beefier construction in the back with a more classic shoe shape to them was a really good fit for me. I need a higher top, a lot of these newer shoes just aren’t for me.

So then it felt like you were playing barefoot the rest of the night.

      Here's what mine looked like:

Here's how they probably should have looked like if done correctly:

One of the most comfortable, in contrast, was probably the 2008 Hyperdunk. Still fond of Hyperdunks to this day.

That said, I wasn't too finnicky. I spent a lot of years in Jordan V's and Jordan III's and I wasn't above wearing Starburys or garage sale Way Ups in the summer.

I had a I don’t remember which year version of Jordan 1’s in the OG Bulls color way. They were **** quality. The tops of mine just started flaking off with pretty normal wear after a year or two. I never tried to play in them because of how awful they felt from a performance standpoint. Could have been some Chinese knock offs or something. Don’t even remember where I got them way back then but it was when buying stuff online was still somewhat of a new thing.

The Why Not Zer0.1's are easily my worst experience. The fit, the performance....just a rough experience all around. I literally felt like they were going to cause an injury and had to take them off mid session. I ended up giving them away that night.

I played my most pickup ball from 05-08. These are the shoes I remember hooping in

            LeBron 20 5 5

            CP3 II

            And Air Huarache Elite

I liked the OG Hyperdunks too but the cushioning wore out very quickly for me. I think they were the last Nike shoe I bought that didn't have Zoom Air IIRC.

The 20.5.5s are one of my favorite shoes, but myself and everyone else that I knew who had them had the straps fail pretty quickly.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

Got them to hoop in man! Loved them too, like I said a little heavy but heavy in a good way as they felt sturdy and supportive but not overly clunky and blocky.

I’ve never been one to buy bigger bulkier shoes like that to wear casually or collect. I did as a kid, and have a few pairs of retro J’s. But that’s about it. But usually if I’m getting a bulky basketball shoe like that it’s to hoop in. I don’t have the patience to walk around all stiff trying not to crease them like I have cement blocks on my feet lol.. don’t get me wrong I still love buying sneakers, just rarely get basketball shoes and honestly don’t find them super comfortable for casual wear anyways.

I actually liked those so much I thought about getting some of the lows to not hoop in. Just didn’t have the cash to be buying pairs and pairs of kicks back then. Couldn’t justify it lol. One of the few pairs of Bron’s that I actually thought the lows looked pretty good though.

Still those are my favorite LeBron’s I’ve tried. From his signature line and the solider line.

Kinda off-topic but has anyone else gotten to this point?

I remember in my 20's if I saw maybe a small gate, chair, etc, I'd just want to jump over it or just do it, not really even think twice about it. It happened a few years ago now (I'm 34) but now seeing objects at that same height I'm just like "ugh no way" and my legs ache just thinking about it, lol. Silly **** I used to take for granted.

Gotta touch those door frames too.

I still shoot air jumpers in the kitchen though. Wife thinks I’m weird.
