Re: Team USA 2012
My 12, I would say Chris Bosh, Tyson Chandler and Eric Gordon are toss ups. Chandler the designated defender, Gordon the shooter or Bosh the all around player.
Carmelo Anthony
Kobe Bryant
Kevin Durant
Blake Griffin
Dwight Howard
LeBron James
Kevin Love
Chris Paul
Derrick Rose
Dwyane Wade
Deron WilliamsComment

Re: Team USA 2012
Hm, out of those guys.....
PG - Chris Paul
PG - Deron Williams
PG - Derrick Rose
SG - Dwyane Wade
SG - Kobe Bryant
SF - LeBron James
SF - Kevin Durant
SF - Carmelo Anthony
PF - Kevin Love
PF - LaMarcus Aldridge
C - Dwight Howard
C - Tyson Chandler
Would love to get Gordon or some other designated gun on the team though, somehow.Comment

Re: Team USA 2012
Maybe it's just me but I think Westbrook could learn a thing or two from playing on the team if he makes the final roster.
I would say they could do without Kobe but then the 2 spot would be too thin with just Wade there. Also wouldn't be surprised if they went with just 1 Center this year as well.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Team USA 2012
Oh God. Westbrook should only make the team if either of Williams, Rose, Kobe don't play. Other than that, he can stay his *** home. No doubt he would learn a lot from the experience, but there are other players who deserve to be there ahead of him.
Not to mention the team is guard heavy already...Comment

Re: Team USA 2012
I think it could too, especially if he WANTS to improve his game. Out of all the first timers, I think he can benefit the most from being on the team.
Besides, it's not like they're going to ask him to do the same thing he's doing in OKC that some people may have an issue with because I doubt Coack K or any of the others would allow for that to happen.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Team USA 2012
Regardless, both of those guys won't make the final cut. Or at least shouldn't.
I think Billups and Odom should be the first to be cut. Followed by Westbrook.
After that it's going to be hell to trim it down.Comment

Re: Team USA 2012
If Russell makes the team, he's surely going to play the 2 with CP3/Deron/Rose on the team.
Right now I have it:
Chris Paul
Dwayne Wade
LeBron
Kevin Durant
Dwight Howard
Kevin Love
Melo
Derrick Rose
Blake Griffin
LaMarcus Aldridge
Deron Williams
If Kobe wants to play, the spot is his. If not it will probably go to Andre or Russell.
Blake's spot can probably go to Bosh or Tyson. LaMarcus should be a lock cause his game is perfect for the International game. Also, him and Kevin can give minutes at the 5 when Dwight needs a rest.Lions, Tigers, Pistons, Michigan

Re: Team USA 2012
I hope he does! I mean Kyrie & Bogut duo would be very interesting to watch. Plus throw in Patty Mills as well! Obviously not enough talent compared to team USA or Spain but hey maybe a possible contender for bronze possibly?Comment

Old man is in
"I'm looking forward to it," Bryant said after the Lakers' 73-70 win over the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night. "I'm definitely going to be there because I sure as hell am not going to let that guy win it."
Bryant was referring to teammate Pau Gasol who has already committed to the Spanish national team, which Bryant and the rest of USA Basketball beat in the gold medal game at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.Comment
