Re: Not a matter of IF, but WHEN the Spurs repeat!

Both can't shoot? You judging on fg%? Parker already has the ability to hit jumpers and three's (not great yet but noticeably better than what Francis can), and I can see him becoming a very good shooting point guard.

And I don't think a rebounding guard (Francis) in a nothing team would do as much in a team with Duncan (Rose and Nesterovic).

And yeah the offense does run through Duncan but coach Pop says they are better (and I agree) when Parker is looking for and hitting his shot. I know I am biased but there is something about Parker for me, he looks to have the extra edge needed to become more than a helper for Duncan. Not exactly the same, but similar to how Kobe can light up in a team with Shaq.

Oh and just a little note, my prediction, if Ginobili plays decent minutes he will be in the top steals leaders this year Hopefully in the 3pt % too, but that might be dreaming a bit much...

I agree that Francis is overrated, though I also believe that Parker is nowhere near his caliber. Not one GM would take Parker over Francis. Let's see, both can't shoot, but Francis would probably pick up more assist and definitely rebound more. He's also a better defensive presence. There is really nothing more for a PG to do in SA since the offense runs through Duncan. So I go with the more talented guy.

Also, I think Ginobili has all the talent in the world and will one day be a great player.....SA better not lose him, but he's not their yet, and he's not a big money player, so if I have Sprewell, I play him much more the Ginobili.

you know i read somewhere that if iverson were to shoot 1000-1000...he still wouldnt crack 45% shooting for his career...or something to that affect...makes you think ...well i do

we both know that parker had some stretches in the playoffs where he looked a star...but at times he seemed out of place...he has to work on consistency

Dunno if that's true about Iverson. But I think he is attacked too much over that. Firstly I think he obviously has a problem with shot selection, but it also comes down to having a crapload of talentless players around you who can barely catch the passes let alone score on them, so he figures he might as well take the shot himself, hehe!
I think he will have his best fg% this year, so let's see.
And just remember, even though his career % is around 42%, an NBA legend Isiah Thomas finished at 45%. Iverson shot 46% in his second year, also his lowest scoring season. His points will go down this year, but % and assists will go up.

Back to the topic, I think Parker will have to work harder this year because Anthony Carter is a good player, who always seems to get high assist totals in limited minutes of play. Ahh the talent we have this year!!!
